  • Making an Impact ⭐ Last week we welcomed many Australian Industry & Defence Network (AIDN National) members as well as supportive civilian employers of reservists from across NSW to attend the “Making an Impact” networking event at Anzac Memorial. This included a panel discussion with Ms Stephanie Hall and Ms Angela Green from Westpac and Mr David Smith from Boeing Defence Australia who all brought interesting perspectives on their #YourADF service and the transferrable skills reservists bring into their civilian workplaces! We also welcomed Major General Douglas Laidlaw for a fireside chat and Q&A and to proudly present TWO special awards 🏆 Congratulations to Westpac who received their Gold Supportive Employer Program certificate as well as Julie Storok who received her legacy Prince of Wales Award! • Employers take to the Sky! (well almost…) Recently we hosted a handful of very lucky Reserve employers with 3 Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. They got to experience the intensity of what our health reservists do when they throw on their uniform AND they were able to experience the Fuselage trainer and intense training scenarios! We did try to think of some puns to throw in here but they were a flight risk.. #YourADF Defence Australia Royal Australian Air Force

  • Today is Remembrance Day, when we acknowledge all Australian service personnel who have died while serving in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations, and we pay our respects to their families. For more than 100 years, on 11 November, Australians have paused to honour the sacrifice of service personnel. This year marks the 106th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice between Allied forces and Germany on 11 November 1918, which ended the First World War. Defence joins all Australians on Remembrance Day to acknowledge, honour and remember the courage and sacrifice of those who have fought and lost their lives in service to our nation. Australian Defence Force personnel will acknowledge Remembrance Day wherever they are situated, including those deployed on operations supporting Australia’s national interests.   More than 103,000 Australians have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country.   Today, at the 11th hour, we observe a minute of silence in remembrance of the fallen and we reflect on the history that binds us to them. Lest we forget.
