🌏 We’re excited to welcome WA's Renewable Hydrogen Strategy 2024-2030. The recently released updated strategy is a significant step toward a clean energy future that positions the Pilbara at the forefront of the renewable hydrogen industry. This strategy not only supports the development of hydrogen hubs across key areas like Boodarie, Maitland, and Burrup but also brings exciting opportunities for the Ngarluma Water Desalination Project and the establishment of Balla Balla Port, both currently under development by Legacie.   The Ngarluma Water Desalination Project will play a pivotal role in providing essential water resources to support the Pilbara’s renewable hydrogen hubs and other developments in the Strategic Industrial Areas. Together with Balla Balla Port, this infrastructure will strengthen local capacity, attract significant investment, and create jobs, helping transform the Pilbara into a clean energy powerhouse.   With a focus on green ammonia, critical minerals, and green metals, this strategy underscores the WA Government's commitment to economic growth through sustainable energy and to supporting local and global industry decarbonisation goals. 🌊💧 National Water Week 2024 💧🌊 As we celebrate National Water Week, it’s a pivotal time to reflect on the importance of sustainable water management for our communities and industries. This year's theme, "Accelerating Action" urges us to take bold steps towards better water practices and innovative solutions that ensure a reliable water supply for the future. At Legacie, we're dedicated to fostering partnerships and implementing initiatives that align with this theme. 📢 Legacie Announces Joint Development Agreement with bp for Ngarluma Water Desalination Project 🌊 Legacie is thrilled to share that we have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with bp Alternative Energy Australia to progress the Order of Magnitude study for the Ngarluma Water Desalination Project. This groundbreaking initiative, set to be located between the Boodarie and Maitland Strategic Industrial Areas on the Pilbara coast, will deliver up to 150GL of water annually, playing a key role in addressing water supply challenges in the region. Ngarluma Water, Australia’s first desalination plant developed in partnership with a First Nations community, aims to deliver first water in 2029. Working closely with the Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation, this project will provide sustainable water solutions to drive decarbonisation in the Pilbara and support critical projects like the Australian Renewable Energy Hub (AREH), operated by bp.
