Today marks the violent dispossession of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It is not a day of celebration, but an annual reminder of invasion, occupation, genocide, and the enduring destruction of colonization that continue to impact First Nations communities. Today is also a reminder of the importance of reflection, taking actions, and standing in solidarity with First Nation communities around Australia. Sovereignty was never ceded, and this land always was and always will be Aboriginal land. #notadaytocelebrate #invasionday
