Pemba Capital Partners specialises in buy and build partnerships with the owners and managers of private businesses. We understand the challenges and complexities that come with a growing business, such as balancing the need for more capital with personal financial risk, family and management dynamics, as well as private ownership structures. Many of Pemba’s most successful partnerships have involved an investment in a strong business followed by a series of smaller acquisitions that are integrated into the “parent” business. This growth strategy is sometimes known as Buy and Build. Pemba Capital Partners is independently owned by its Managing Directors. Established in 1998, Pemba Capital Partners has made over 40 platform investments which have in turn completed almost 200 add-on acquisitions as part of buy and build strategies. Pemba take a conservative attitude towards debt and generally avoid highly geared businesses. Prior to working with Pemba Capital Partners, we encourage new partners to meet as many current or former investee owners as possible to hear what they have to say about us.
