The Australia UAE Business Council’s 2024 business delegation to Abu Dhabi wrapped up this week, and it was one of our best yet! Led by Council Co-Chair, the Hon Christopher Pyne, our 6-day delegation brought together 24 business leaders from across Australia and the UAE to explore new opportunities for collaboration and strengthen bilateral ties. The programme featured engagements with key organisations and stakeholders, including: 🔹 Abu Dhabi Investment Office 🔹 ADGM 🔹 Abu Dhabi Business Week 🔹 Hub71 🔹 Tawazun Industrial Park - TIP 🔹 EPI 🔹 HALCON 🔹 CARACAL 🔹 Alpha Dhabi Holding 🔹 National Investment Corporation (PJSC) 🔹 GHD 🔹 Maysaffron 🔹 Masdar City 🔹 MBZUAI (Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence) 🔹 ALDAR 🔹 Austrade Middle East, Africa and Pakistan | Australian Trade and Investment Commission Gravity iLabs & Taronga Ventures, both proud Council members, also celebrated the signing of MOUs and Commercial Agreements on the sidelines of the delegation, further deepening the economic relationship between the two nations. Other delegation highlights also included a formal reception at the residence of Australian Ambassador HE Ridwaan Jadwat, lunch in collaboration with AusBG - Australian Business Group Abu Dhabi as well as delegation dinners at Emirates Palace and at Cipriani Yas Marina. Our time in Abu Dhabi also coincided with the iconic Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit, which served as an exciting backdrop for informal networking and relationship-building. Delegates gained a deeper understanding of Abu Dhabi’s forward-looking vision and commitment to excellence, promising new business leads and connections, as well as insights into doing business in the UAE. The partnerships and collaborations forged during this delegation will undoubtedly accelerate opportunities for Australian and Emirati businesses alike. A heartfelt thank you to all the delegates, partners, supporters and organisations that made the delegation a success. Our Stu Crosbie facilitated a briefing between Saber Astronautics's CEO Jason Held 🛰️ 🚀 and the Hon Anoulack Chanthivong, in his capacity as #NSW Minister for #Innovation, #Science and #Technology, to discuss the future of the space industry in NSW, and ways to enhance Australia’s space domain awareness. 🌌 Saber Astronautics is an Australian company that provides space operation services and space software, including critical capabilities like satellite tracking and space flight safety analysis.

It has been an incredible few weeks supporting our client L'Oréal ANZ at some major events! (1)To kick things off we celebrated #women’s #achievements in #science in #Melbourne. 🔬 💄 (2)Then, it was over to #Sydney, with the Harbour Bridge as the backdrop for #Maison L’Oréal. 🌸 The event celebrated 115 years of the L’Oréal Groupe and their commitment to understanding #beauty as an essential human need! L’Oréal showcased all their 32 brands and allowed guests to immerse themselves in all the latest innovations. (3) Finally, back to Melbourne to support L’Oreal and the Australian Museum of Immigration’s celebration of the resurrection from the ashes of #Cathédrale #NotreDame de #Paris. ❤️🔥 Great #teamwork from Pyne & Partners Andrew Joyce, Rosie O'Leary, Alexandra Longinidis and William Clancy to support L’Oreal in having key Federal and NSW & VIC MPs participate in these events. We are looking forward to another big year with L’Oreal in #2025!

It has been a busy few weeks leading up to the end of the parliamentary year. MilCIS was a great opportunity to engage with technology companies and hear about the ADF’s future communications needs. Pyne & Partners also hosted the UK’s AUKUS Cyber Security delegation drinks hearing about potential future partnerships between British and Australian companies.

Great to be working with Service Stream this week at the Defence Estate & Security Group’s briefing on future capital works and the current estate sustainment program. Service Stream is a fantastic Australian company providing a range of essential services across infrastructure, telecommunications and utilities.

Please welcome with us Pyne & Partners' new Special Counsel Sharon Wilson. 🤝 👏 👏 Sharon has worked in BAE Systems for 34 years in various senior roles including strategy, innovation, business development, supply chain, and industry engagement/development.   Sharon brings extensive knowledge of Australian industry, industry policy, and strategic supply chain design including technology transfer, Australianisation of designs, and supporting overseas companies in delivering the Governments Australian industry objectives.   Sharon was responsible for the development of the Continuous Naval #Shipbuilding strategy and framework for the Hunter-class frigate program, Maritime sustainment as well as the digital strategy of the shipyard at #Osborne and the Factory of the Future at #Tonsley.    Based in #Adelaide, Sharon’s wide industry experience and networks including non-defence will be key to navigating the sometimes conflicting requirements of government policy and value drivers for our clients.
