Relationships Australia WA proudly stand with Centrecare's Valuing Children Initiative to end child poverty and create a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive 🌟 One in six (761,000) children in Australia live below the poverty line, facing daily struggles with food, healthcare, and education. These barriers steal their opportunities and limit their futures. We believe systemic change is possible when we come together - government, businesses, communities, and individuals. Let’s ensure every child has a nurturing environment to grow and thrive. Join us by signing the pledge and be part of the movement for change 💙 #LegislatetoEndChildPoverty #ValuingChildrenInitiative #NoChildInPoverty

A couple of weeks ago, teams across Relationships Australia WA embraced the spirit of R U OK? Day with activities that fostered connection and well-being 🌼 ✨ The Perth Family Relationships Centre welcomed Djilba, the season of renewal, with a refreshing 30-minute city stroll. 🍳 The West Leederville counselling team started their day with a bonding breakfast, while the Midland team enjoyed a relaxing morning tea together. 🐾 Following the lead of our trendsetter, Cora the therapy dog, staff donned their R U OK? Day socks in style! 🧦 Remember, R U OK? Day isn’t just a day of action. It’s a reminder that EVERY day is an opportunity to ask, “Are you okay?” Let’s keep the conversation going, because checking in with one another matters all year round 💬💛 #RUOKDay

Relationships Australia welcomes the government's increased investment in family violence prevention measures. Read our full media release here: https://lnkd.in/gwwXPjKX Speaking about the funding boost today, National Executive Officer Nick Tebbey said "This investment is a welcome boost for the critical work that is being done across the country. It recognises the variety of responses that are required if we, as a nation, are to bring an end to the scourge of family, domestic and sexual violence." Of critical importance is the increase funding for services supporting children - who are victims in their own right. About this, Nick said: "Trauma‑informed, child-centric approaches are essential for supporting young people's recovery and resilience, as well as disrupting intergenerational patterns of violence, trauma and other harms." Relationships Australia also supports additional focus on perpetrator interventions, such as Men's Behaviour Change Programs, and welcomes the development of national standards. For these programs to succeed, however, requires significant additional investment. We look forward to working with all Australian Governments and other stakeholders to implement these initiatives effectively. Our Relationships Australia WA Education Services have been on the move to the South West and Pilbara regions! In July, Rhett travelled to Margaret River, Karratha, and Port Hedland to deliver Accidental Counsellor in collaboration with local organisations. Accidental Counsellor equips people to support others without feeling the need to advise, problem-solve, or take responsibility, so we are pleased to be able to extend our reach to these regional communities. 🔹 Learn more about our Accidental Counsellor workshop or book an upcoming session here: https://lnkd.in/g93HfyPv 📸: Wildfire Creative
