Last week we had the opportunity to meet with Andrew Leigh MP launching the Relationships Australia National Impact Report 2024. This report explores a selection of services funded under the Family and Relationship Services Program and related services across the Relationships Australia federation. The report demonstrates how we adopt a holistic view to supporting families to navigate significant changes, improve parenting skills and prepare parents for productive co-parenting relationships. Poor relationships, separation and estrangement are inextricably linked with loneliness and are one of the key reasons for suicidal ideation. The reality is that life transitions including leaving school, workplaces, relationships, children leaving home or retirement, all result in loss as much as they open up opportunity. Those who manage transitions are able to hold and build connections to see themselves through, however some people need assistance and support.   We are very grateful that Stephanie Hodson CSC PSM and Elisabeth Shaw were able to represent Relationships Australia National at the NSW Senate Inquiry into the Prevalence, Causes and Impacts of Loneliness. They were able to discuss the importance of connection, family, breaking down stigma and training to build resilience. To learn more you can read our submission at https://lnkd.in/gdRuDMz3
