bd infrastructure is proud to support Elecnor Australia and Transgrid in the delivery of Project EnergyConnect.   Since the beginning, we have supported the EnergyConnect team in the review of draft conditions, preparation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan, sub-plans and other pre-construction documentation. Ongoing activities throughout the construction phase including consistency assessments and compliance management continue to keep us busy, with a particular focus on navigating the complex Aboriginal heritage landscape, along with strict biodiversity clearing limits and assessment requirements.     We feel honoured to be part of Australia's largest energy transmission project. • Our fifth and final purpose-built worker accommodation camp for EnergyConnect near Hay, has opened its doors this week marking another milestone in Australia’s largest renewable energy transmission project, which will connect NSW, VIC, and SA. 👷♂️👷♂️The Cobb Highway camp will house up to 250 of our workers who are on the front line, assembling, erecting, and stringing this nation-critical transmission line. Benefits of the camp: • Relieves pressure on local housing and accommodation. 🏠 • Reduces travel time to construction sites, enhancing safety. 🚧 • Prioritises worker wellbeing with quality living amenities, including ensuite bedrooms, a full kitchen and dining space, gym, rec room, Wi-Fi, and more. 💻🍴 👉For more information about EnergyConnect, visit: https://lnkd.in/grCNAupR Elecnor Australia #EnergyConnect #cleanenergy #renewables #transmission #camplife #makingitpossible

  • Elecnor Australia is proud to be part of Australia’s clean energy transition with the successful connection of three states – NSW, Victoria and South Australia. This major milestone is part of the nation’s largest transmission project, EnergyConnect and it’s been celebrated with a special ceremony at Buronga. The Australian Energy Market Operator’s testing of Line 1 is underway following completion of this section linking Buronga to the South Australian border, the line to Red Cliffs in Victoria, and the completion of one of the largest substations in the southern hemisphere at Buronga, NSW. It is the result of millions of hours of teamwork and dedication by Transgrid, Elecnor and its subcontractors. This world class achievement has been made possible by overcoming complex challenges each day and working through engineering complexities. We are so proud of what has been achieved on project EnergyConnect. #EnergyConnect #Transgrid #gettingonwiththejob #cleanenergy #AEMO

🚧Exciting progress is underway at our Dinawan substation! The construction of EnergyConnect’s substation has reached a major milestone with the completion of concrete foundations for the second synchronous condenser. ✅ This remarkable 13-hour effort involved: - 40 dedicated workers - 2 onsite batch plants - An impressive overnight concrete pour That’s 1600m³ of concrete (equal to 230 concrete trucks!) poured for both condenser foundations. At the heart of this 4.2-hectare substation will be two powerful 𝟭𝟮𝟬𝗠𝗩𝗔𝗿 𝘀𝘆𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀, designed to keep the transmission network stable and resilient. The Dinawan substation will also house advanced equipment like shunt reactors, power transformers, and capacitor banks. 🔗 Learn more about EnergyConnect: https://brnw.ch/21wOTqH Elecnor Australia #cleanenergy #makingitpossible #renewables

  • The 238.5 MW / 477 MWh Blyth Battery project in South Australia that Elecnor and NHOA Energy are delivering for NEOEN Australia recently achieved a major milestone – we achieved mechanical completion two weeks ahead of schedule! With the 1,280 battery cabinets now installed and cold commissioned, the project is well underway to completion and becoming the State’s largest battery. This advanced storage system will be paired with a new wind farm to provide renewable baseload power to Olympic Dam.   To read more about the project, check out a recent article: https://lnkd.in/gQR6atBC   #Blythbattery #BESS #Elecnoraustralia #neoenaustralia

  • Today is our final story in our series showcasing some of the people working at the Buronga substation. Today we meet PJ Pique, Senior Project Engineer. PJ has managed the installation of all the primary equipment on site. It’s been a big role with 1800 pieces on site. Having spent so much time working on the equipment, he says it all comes down to the people and the culture that has made the Buronga substation a world class facility. #EnergyConnect #Transgrid #Burongasubstation

  • This National Safe Work Month, Elecnor Australia is proud to celebrate 5 million hours worked on Project EnergyConnect with a strong safety performance. This important milestone can only be achieved when safety is everyone’s business – from our global headquarters in Spain, to everyone working on the Project EnergyConnect, (PEC) alignment. Elecnor Group’s Head of Safety, Enrique Rodero visited Australia as part of our Safety Days – events held at all our sites, focusing on continuous improvement and meeting with Substations and Overhead Transmission Lines Leadership Teams. Enrique shared global learnings and reinforced safety procedures with the workforce across the project sites. Thank you to our safety team who lead the way and help us work safely every day. And to everyone on PEC, keep taking time to ensure that we all go home safely every day.    #EnergyConnect #Transgrid #Nationalsafeworkmonth #safetyiseveryonesbusiness #safetyisourbusiness #Besafe

  • Welcome to our series showcasing some of the people working on Elecnor’s Buronga substation. Today we meet Isaac Gersch one of the youngest members of the Project Team. The Buronga Substation was Isaac’s second role out of university, and he counts himself fortunate for the mentoring opportunities he has received on EnergyConnect. Isaac has also changed roles during the course of his work. He began life on the project as a Civil Project Engineer and has moved into a more mechanical role which he says has been deeply rewarding. #ProjectEnergyConnect #Transgrid #Burongasubstation
