We currently hire over 90 employees including Engineers, Plant Fitters, Office staff, Operators and Labour to maintain and carry out projects. Our experience in a carity of projects gives us a stable base for new and challenging projects. In 2001, we were purchased by France's leading plant hire company, Groupe Poisson. Select are always going above and beyond to help our clients hit their goals and stay on schedule - even if not in our 'BAU' capacity. Here we're coordinating a heavy haulage move of a dredge barge, as well as constructing all enabling works for their continuing operations as an addition to an adjacent civil project. #ClientFocus #Trustworthy

As an early Christmas surprise, our workshop manager Anthony (who in a former life could have been a French master-pâtissier), decided to trade in his grease for some cheese and treated the office to some delicious crepes for lunch. Merci, Anthony! #TeamFirst

Great industry insights from our Business Development Manager, Mitch Bell, representing Select as part of the contractor panel discussion at the CCF NSW State of the State Luncheon last week. #TeamFirst #Trustworthy
Recently, I had the pleasure of being part of a contractor panel discussion at the CCF NSW | Civil Contractors Federation NSW State of the State Luncheon. The event saw industry updates, economic analysis and commentary by Adrian Hart, some (optimistic) NRL predictions, and a panel conversation on how we as contractors feel leaving 2024 and rolling/stumbling into 2025. It seems that the feeling of it being a challenging and uncertain period is consistent across industry - no matter what size of civil business, and it was a great opportunity to provide some thoughts and ideas from the lens of Select Civil. Great event, and as always, some key takeaways to steer growth in our business. Lee Fahey Scott Hartog Larry McGrath Kylie Yates GAICD

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming the CEO of our parent company, Groupe Poisson, Olivier Poisson to Australia to see our team, operations and challenges first hand. It was fantastic for our managers to understand the future for our family of companies, and the strategies that are being put in place to ensure success. Merci Beaucoup, Olivier! #TeamFirst

Our 22m super-boom long reach excavator "The Giraffe" going to work on a seawall construction project in Newcastle Harbour. We're proud to help our Clients in hard to reach places. #ClientFocus #Excavator

Great to see the Illawarra community get behind such an impactful charity event like the i98FM Illawarra Convoy over the weekend! Select's maintenance manager, Peter Bill, was behind the wheel of one of the trucks in the fleet. Nice work Pete, and huge achievement for all involved. #ActLocal #TeamFirst

This week, another piece of waste-spec plant was delivered to one our long-term client sites in Katoomba! This time a Caterpillar Next Gen wheeled materials handler with new rotating grabs for the Client's team to efficiently sort and handle their waste stream. #ClientFocus #ActLocal

Big things are happening at Select's main yard to expand our rebuild and refurbishment capabilities - watch this space!
A few pictures from the last two weeks working for our good friends at The RIX Group. The client Select Civil had recently extended the back wall of their yard to a vertical and smooth finish, but some concern were raised on the stability of the newly cut section. The solution was the trusted Maccaferri double twist mesh for the full length of the wall, about 48m. Another job for our Marini Quarries Group srl pneumatic mast that feel comfortable on its a-frame as much as on the telehandler platform the fabrication team at RIX built. For once we kept the ropes in the warehouse and relied on some machinery to do the heavy lifting and it went as smooth as it could've. Many thanks to the RIX team for their help and to Allan from Select civil for making us comfortable at their yard. Fun fact: to help the telehandler driver align the mast efficiently the team positioned the anchors vertically on top of the hole locations to have a visual guide from the cab of the machine on the ground

Quarter of a century!! 🏆 Last month, our long-serving Asset Manager Peter 'Wizz' Wisniewski hit a massive 25-year milestone at Select Civil (and he was around as a contractor to Select a few years before this too!). He's been an operator, supervisor, plant manager, trainer, assessor, asset manager and everything in between. Pete is an invaluable part of our management team, and his hard work has helped build the reputation Select has today. Congrats Wizz! #TeamFirst
