  • A big congrats to the SJH team members who took part in Movember, raising funds and awareness for men's mental health. Together, our team has raised over $4,000 for this important cause. This year, we're thrilled to have had a record number of participants, whether they were a mo-grower, mo-ver, or both! 🌟 Shoutout to our top fundraiser Elliott Robinson who raised a whopping $1,300. And a special mention to Peter Sutterby, Greg Day and Terry Binyon for their cracking efforts. 👏 Kudos to our mo-vers who collectively covered 1,695km for the month. Whether walking, running and swimming, they each smashed their individual goals. 🙏 Thank you to our donators and everyone who got behind our team. We are truly grateful for the support and your generosity will help make an impact. You can still donate here: https://lnkd.in/giFGjxHq As usual, we’ll be running a little competition to determine which of our team members grew the most creative and most pathetic mo. Tune into our Instagram stories throughout the week and cast your votes!

  • The new Dakabin Hotel and Shopping Village is really taking shape! It’s fantastic to see business thriving at GuzmanYGomez and KFC, both of which have been successfully trading for over a month. Higgins was delighted to assist Comiskey Group on the construction of the two standalone QSRs earlier this year. These tenants will soon be in good company with other big name operators joining the precinct, including Shell / Nightowl, Zarraffa's Coffee, Cafe 63, Subway® Australia, Bottlemart and more. Congrats to the #Comiskey team on their continued progress. We look forward to seeing the rest of the development open to community next year. • PROJECTS | Melton’s new community recreation hub breaks ground! We're excited to join Melton City Council on the construction of stage two of the Bridge Road Community Hub in Strathtulloh. Last week, our SJH-VIC team, along with Melton Mayor Kathy Majdlik and State MP Steve McGhie, visited the site to kick off this exciting project. Set to open late next year, the new facility will provide a full-size AFL oval, netball court, cricket practice nets, lighting, and supporting amenities like change rooms and social spaces. Last Saturday, our industry lost one of its greats. We are shocked and saddened at the passing of Chris Schloss. SJ Higgins Group extends our heartfelt condolences to Chris’ wife Amanda, his family, friends and colleagues during this devastating time. Although it has been some time since Chris was part of the Higgins team, his contribution to our business and ongoing friendship is still greatly valued. Anyone who worked with Chris could comment on the immense dedication he brought to his craft. Today we share a photo from the archives of our Lake Vermont Mine MIA project in 2012, featuring Chris and Amanda side by side. As we reflect on Chris’ impact on the mining and construction industry and the lives of many he touched, we are reminded of the preciousness of life. Rest in peace Schlossy.
