  • In response to the highest road toll in 10 years, we’re rolling out our Motorcycle First Aid Course, which will equip riders and bystanders with critical life-saving skills 🏍️🆘🚨 Motorcyclists represent over 10% of Territory road fatalities, and face a significantly higher risk of serious injury. This course will teach participants how to respond effectively to accidents, manage injuries, and provide essential first aid until emergency services arrive. Well done to our First Aid Training team for developing this innovative course, and a huge thank you to our Clinical Services team for upskilling our trainers, who are now ready to deliver this training. The first course will be held this Saturday, 8 March, with fortnightly sessions to follow. Read the full story here 🔗 https://bit.ly/41Oq33z

  • Luke’s got his gold epaulettes! 🚑 Since starting with us as a Cadet in 2007, Luke’s various roles have included: 💚 First Aid Volunteer ☎️ Emergency Medical Dispatcher 🚨 Patient Transport Officer 🚑 Paramedic Intern 🏆 And now, Qualified Paramedic! Luke completed his Bachelor of Paramedicine at Charles Darwin University when the course became available locally in 2021, and completed his studies in 2023 with the very first cohort of Territory-educated graduates! Luke credits his local knowledge - both from growing up in the Territory and studying at CDU - for helping him connect with the community and excel in his on-road role 🙌 We’re thrilled to see more locals like Luke join our team and make a real difference in the Territory. Congratulations, Luke! 👏 To read the full story, head here 🔗 https://bit.ly/4hLAHgN

  • Congratulations to our Director Commercial Services Colin Southam MAICD AIPA on his reappointment to the Palmerston Regional Business Association Inc committee 👏 We are proud members of PRBA and look forward to seeing what the new committee will achieve 🤝

  • Newly qualified First Aid Trainer, Teagan, recently joined our Community Education Coordinator, Ciara, on a trip to Nhulunbuy! In just five days, the duo taught 32 lessons to over 600 students!! 💚🍎💫 While Teagan has predominantly taught adults, this trip was a great opportunity for her to test her skills on a younger age group, delivering the First Aid in Schools program in the remote Territory town. The students got to learn age-appropriate, real life first aid skills, including: ❤️🔥 CPR 🐍 Snake bites 🩹 Amputation 🔥 Burn treatment With our awesome duo now back and having a well-deserved rest (kind of) back home, Ciara will be off to Tiwi Islands next with another fresh trainer, Fatima! 🛫 If you know of a Territory preschool, high school or daycare that is interested in hosting a session - or 30! - check out 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gs2PuXn

  • In the fast-paced world of emergency medical services, every second matters - including how quickly you can bring an ambulance to a stop 🚑💨 This week, our 12 new paramedic interns gained invaluable hands-on experience, testing emergency braking techniques at Hidden Valley Raceway, simulating braking at 60 and 80 km/h 🛑 To build confidence and understanding of the distances our paramedics cover, the interns also traveled to Bark Hut and Fogg Dam, further immersing themselves in the realities of working in the field. We are excited to see these new interns hit the ground running once their induction is complete! If you’re passionate about paramedicine or want to contribute to our emergency response efforts, we invite you to explore our career opportunities 👉 https://lnkd.in/gP5nDDcv
