St Vincent’s Foundation raises funds to support the vital work of our hospitals and health services in Victoria.

About us

St Vincent’s Foundation raises funds to support the vital work of the network of St Vincent's Hospitals across Victoria. One of Victoria’s most respected health care providers, St Vincent's provides the very best in patient care to people from all walks of life, especially those in need. St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne is known as the people’s hospital, treating more than 57,000 patients a year. St Vincent’s has long been a leader in medical treatment in Australia – in the 1960s we established Australia’s first Intensive Care Unit, in 2011 we performed the first hand transplant and in 2014 we utilised 3D printing technology to build a new heel to replace a cancerous bone. Our vision is to continue leading the way but also to continue caring for the Victorian community.

  • Our staff popped on hard hats and had a sneak peek at Levels 3, 4, and 5 of our new East Tower! We toured the soon-to-be-completed maternity, birthing floors and ICU department. Everyone got a glimpse of where we'll be supporting our patients in even more impactful ways. The development is shaping up beautifully, and we can't wait to start utilising these new spaces. Remember, your contribution helps! All financial gifts over $2 are tax-deductible. Consider making your donation before June 30 to maximise your impact and take advantage of this benefit. If you’d like to discuss how your donation can make a lasting difference, please contact Cameron Smith, our Capital Campaign Director. • Whenever you meet a nurse from St Vincent’s, one thing stands out: their passion for their work and their patients. Jess Brain, a 6 West Oncology Ward nurse, is no exception. Jess is channelling this passion to commit to her fourth year of giving up alcohol to do Dry July. Each year, she’s raised around $1,000, however this year Jess is keen to lift the bar and raise $2,000. These funds will go towards funding a music therapist for patients. “Music brings people together. It’s so nice for patients to forget where they are for a short time and enjoy the music; it’s a beautiful gift to give them. It also helps to lift the team’s spirits.” Support Jess as she goes dry this July by making a donation to her team and reading her full story: https://lnkd.in/gvJk2RBi

  • We recently caught up with Dr Yi Yuen Wang, a neurosurgeon here at St Vincent's Hospital. He and his team are excited about moving into the new East Tower. With a career spanning over 27 years since his graduation from the University of Melbourne, Dr Ian Wang has been at the forefront of neurosurgery, performing roughly 200 of the 2,000 neurosurgeries the hospital conducts each year. Dr Wang said, "Once the new building is completed, there will be more beds in more wards, and all the facilities will be state-of-the-art." St Vincent's is not just expanding, it's transforming the future of neurosurgery. The new Neuroscience Center is set to become a hub for brain, spine, and pituitary treatments. "This new centre will enable us to offer advanced treatments like robotic and minimally invasive surgeries," Dr Wang said. As we push the boundaries of medical excellence, we invite you to be part of this transformative journey. Act by June 30th to make your tax-deductible contribution count this financial year.
