BUILT AROUND PEOPLE // Meet Ben our Drafting, Estimating and Scheduling Manager at Summit South West. With 17 years of combined industry experience in drafting, estimating and project management, Ben has recently joined the Summit South West team as their Drafting, Estimating and Scheduling Manager. Ben started as a draftee in 2007 to explore his love for design, and he enjoyed working on various CAD programs. After discovering his love for the detail and problem-solving side of the job, Ben made the move into estimating and then gained a diploma in Project Management. As the South West division has grown considerably in the last year, Ben's role has been created to lead and support the Drafting, Estimating, and Scheduling teams as they also grow and the workload increases. Ben's goal is to build confidence and capacity within the growing team. "As I’ve grown in my career, I’ve always looked to the next challenge (which the construction industry offers plenty) and that has led me to various roles, but the best part of the job is just the sense of accomplishment of being part of a successful team." Outside of work, Ben is a family man. With two little girls, he loves exploring nature with his family and would rather spend a day in the bush than go to the beach.
