The only thing better than getting to work with amazing organisations like Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD) and Anni is getting to work with them more! Thanks for the chat, LBBonline - Little Black Book! And thanks to the incredible, unstoppable Dominic Brook and Anna Lee-Renwick for their trust and support 🤜🤛 Laura, Simone and Jon

An independent creative studio that makes people want stuff by making stuff people actually want.
About us
We’re an independent creative studio with a vision to set a new benchmark in earned and non-traditional creativity. According to the World Advertising Research Centre, "the most effective ads, all over the world, no longer look like ads. The top campaigns frequently used fame-building tactics, often built on a highly PR-able idea, with media in support; sociability, spin, salience, and spectacle." Founded by Laura Aldington, Simone Gupta, and Jon Austin, our mission is to partner with brands who share our belief that to be effective, they need to entertain more than interrupt; lean into popular culture and not compete with it; outsmart when they can’t outspend, and make people want things by making things they actually want. We combine disciplined brand strategy, earned expertise, creativity that thrives where our audiences do, and a new and different operating model. Contact us at hello@supermassivestudio.com.

Happy MMAD Day! 🎸⚡🎸⚡🎸⚡ Share the songs that sound like home to you (the Supermassive playlist would be a weird blend of Taylor, UK grime, and thrash metal), but more importantly, support an organisation who has sounded like home to thousands of at-risk Aussie kids for more than 20 years. Dominic Brook and the crew at Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD) use music and mentorship to help those in need, and success stories like Kalani Artis make our hearts swell with admiration. It's not every day a campaign inspires a single from a Universal Music Group artist, but that's exactly what Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD)’s fundraising campaign 'Sounds Like Home' has done. We’ve loved being a part of the unbelievably talented supergroup of Dominic Brook and the MMAD team, Universal Music Group, Yahoo, Kaimera, ARN, UnLtd. , Sony Music Entertainment, and the Sony Foundation to create this year's MMAD Day campaign. 'Sounds Like Home' celebrates the music that reminds us of a time when we felt safe and secure, and raises money for an organisation that provides that same feeling for thousands of at-risk Aussie kids every year. While it’s already getting support from amazing musicians like James Bay, Sam Fischer, Denvah and CYRIL, our favourite part is this beaut of a track by insanely talented emerging artist Kalani Artis - a Universal artist and young MMAD participant who has experienced and benefited from the incredible power of the programme that Dom and his team have created. Take a listen, but most importantly, donate at mmad.org.au to help MMAD keep their home humming.

Supermassive reposted this
One of the things I’m most proud of in my career is co-founding Supermassive. One of the things I’m gutted about is that, as an agency which is majority founded by women, it represents less than 1% of creative shops globally. The decision to start Supermassive with Laura and Simone was an easy one. Not just because they’re the very best at what they do, but because being exposed to their viewpoints, skills, and style over the years has indisputably made me a better creative, leader, and all round human. However, while they’re exceptionally talented, they’re not the exception when it comes to talent. There is a massive amount of insanely brilliant creative women in this industry. I’ve been fortunate enough to witness the fearsome abilities of people like Josephine Burns, Anne Boothroyd, Anastasia Simone, Christie Cooper, Ash Myburgh, Loren Bradley, Kristin Burnshaw, Emily Grosscurt, Julia Spencer, Anna Jackson, Stephanie Cameron, Anna Fawcett, Abbey Farlow, Hannah Stalder, Alexandra Bryant, Erica Valenti, Kiah Nicholas, Effie Athanassiou • Iphigenia Athanassiou, Gwen Thomas, Abigail Sie, Marrianne Little and many more. While representation certainly isn’t improving fast enough, I do believe it is improving. What isn’t improving however, is our slavish devotion to platforms and lists that don’t reflect this growing diversity and representation. It starts with agency leaders making more conscious decisions about where we place our energy, and accepting that what we choose to support demonstrates what we value. I’m always looking for ways to improve my own track record in supporting women in the industry - it’s not perfect by any means - so I’m grateful that this conversation is happening out loud, and pushing our industry and myself to improve.

It's not often you get to go to bat for the world's largest natural wonder. Great to see our project with Lani Cooper (Strathearn), Mark Olsen, Chelsea Cavanah, and the entire amazing crew at Tourism Tropical North Queensland and Expedia Group working its coral socks off already! So proud to see this hugely important project getting aaaaaaall the attention!!! Congrats Tourism Tropical North Queensland!
TTNQ has secured $18.3 million in publicity with the launch of the Guardian of the Reef platform to put the Great Barrier Reef on every traveller’s next holiday list by showing how their visit helps to protect the Reef. There were 194,000 readers across 57 articles globally with most of the coverage in the United States where TTNQ did a media launch for Guardian of the Reef. Coverage included TravelAge West and Yahoo!. Conversion has also been successful with almost 30,000 page views of the Guardian of the Reef platform generating more than $700,000 in bookings to date. This project received grant funding from the Australian Government under the International Tourism Recovery Program administered by Austrade.

We talk a lot about creating disproportionate impact at Supermassive. Changing legislation fits the bill nicely ✅ An epic result for everyone who believes in 36 Months! Huge congrats to all the passionate people who made this happen. 4 months ago on May 19 we launched a campaign with Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli called 36 Months to raise the age of social media citizenship from 13-16. What began as a PR push for policy change quickly turned into a parent-driven movement. Elected officials heard the un-ignorable chorus of voices and made a commitment to legislating a minimum age for social media this year.
