We’re proud to partner with top tech names like MYOB, ZipCo, UBank, Yellow Canary, SBS, ShowPo, Grow Super, XRef and many more, covering a wide range of roles including Software Engineering, Product, Data, Project Services and Design. Hiring; Staff level .Net Engineer – payments/integrations space – Sydney – Circa $175k + super.. I’ve a new opportunity for a hands on, very senior level .Net engineer who’ll be helping their team build out a new real-time payments platform in .Net, that will in turn have massive impact to the business and their customers, allowing them to send and receive money quickly. Like a lot of financial institutions, this business use legacy batch payments to send and receive large sums of money, meaning it can take days to reach its destination. This new platform that’s already underway is going to help solve that. To help get this built, were on the lookout for a .Net engineer with domain/projects experience in payments and the nuances involved. You need be a staff/tech lead level engineer who cares about code, architecture and modern engineering practices. You also need to be someone who can influence an engineering team, provide technical direction and have an appreciation of performance / observability & SRE ways of working. You’ll work closely with a new vendor, as the business integrates with their APIs and accounts to enable real-time payments. Stack; .Net8, SQL, AWS, CI/CD, Redis, Typescript. Were looking for an individual contributor who doesn’t want to manage, but does get a kick from uplifting the team. The perfect person would have been the guy or girl who was instrumental in building a new payments platform or at least worked on integrations, so you know the ins & outs / what to do when it breaks etc.. Little to no front end although most devs here are full stack. Cutting code for probably 60% of your time. Whether the task you are on is big or small – its about making sure your decisions are force-multiplied across the teams and in turn will have business wide impact. We could be negotiable on the salary but $175k-$180k base is about where we're at. Sound cool or know someone? Pls shoot me an email; nick@tekfinder.com.au #DotNet #C# #AWS #StaffEngineer

Over a year ago we set a goal to have tekFoundation registered as an official charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission - as of this week we are so proud to have achieved that goal!! This would not have been possible without the support, connections and expertise of the individuals that helped us get there; thank you to Simone Murad and businessDEPOT, Mike Gore and Jocelyn Goto from Charitabl. | The Easy Way To Give, Keith Rovers, Nashita Khan, Lilit M., and Lucy Greenwood from MinterEllison, Ryan Ginard, CFRE from Fundraise for Australia and the tekFoundation board Lucy Timms, Dr Robert Winter, and Aidan Beanland. Thank you for believing in our vision to create opportunities for small charities in Australia to access the tech and expertise they deserve 🩷 💚 What a way to wrap up 2024! 🎉 Your tekFoundation co-founders, Joni Fleischer and Nick Shepherd

Are you an HR/Payroll Software with a little time to donate your expertise and make a big impact? ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ ⬇️ check out tekFoundation's latest volunteer role with Ability Enterprises - an incredible charity and social enterprise supporting those with barriers to employment! Reach out to Head of tekFoundation, Joni Fleischer for more details.
🚨 We've got a volunteer opportunity for HR/Payroll Software experts! 🚨 tekFoundation is partnering with Ability Enterprises to support them in recruiting a volunteer HR/Payroll software consultant that can assist in investigating & resolving a payroll integration issue between Tanda and Xero. *WHO IS ABILITY ENTERPRISES?* Ability Enterprises is a not-for-profit, social enterprise providing meaningful employment opportunities to marginalised individuals living in regional Queensland. Since 2012, they’ve worked alongside more than 400 people facing barriers to employment. Through strategic community and corporate partnerships, they provide a social enterprise vehicle to support people living with mental illness, people with a disability, refugees and Indigenous Australians. 15% of the people employed move on to secure other employment. 🙌 *HOW YOU CAN HELP* Currently, Ability Enterprises utilises a rostering software product called Tanda, leveraged for scheduling, workforce and shift management; and Xero is used for processing payroll. It’s common for a single employee at AE to work various types of jobs, at various locations, and receive different pay rates reflecting their work. Unfortunately, the payroll integration doesn’t correctly apply these variable rates so payroll is processed manually instead. This time consuming process is about to double in workload with several new tenders coming through so we’re hoping to find a volunteer that can help properly diagnose the issue and resolve it. *REQUIREMENTS* Volunteer will ideally have experience with both Tanda and Xero but they’re open to support from experienced HR/Payroll software consultants that wish to investigate and liaise with Tanda & Xero on Ability Enterprise’s behalf. Tasks completed remotely & flexible on own hours - complimenting your work/life schedule with any meeting times/cadences coordinated between volunteer and Ability Enterprises. Goal resolution date is by 1 July, 2025. Thank you so much for your interest in helping us tackle this technical challenge, your support really makes a difference!

MND Australia is the national peak body of state organisations that support those living with and impacted by motor neurone disease (MND). They focus on research, advocacy and information dissemination. MND is a terminal neurodegenerative disorder sadly with a life expectancy of only 2 to 3 years from diagnosis. The refreshed design for the website includes: (1) updated layout of the homepage and landing page templates used for standard, story/blog and news/media pages. (2) reviewing and updating designs for various widgets and buttons to improve the overall UI. Volunteer can work remotely and flexibly on own hours while coordinating with MNDA directly on tasks. Supporting MND Australia with a more user friendly and modern website in turn improves the experience for current & potential supporters along with the experience of individuals impacted by MND and their loved ones looking to access information. We thank you for your interest, please share around to any UX/UI designers looking for an opportunity to use their skills in a new and meaningful way! 💚 🩷

We've got another great volunteer match story to share! 🎉 Meadhbh Roche from St Francis Social Services reached out to us late September to discuss enhancing their websites to make them more donor centric and really showcase their amazing impact. St Francis supports people seeking asylum and refugees with an incredible set of wrap around support services including transitional housing, foodbank, employment programs and case workers. These services are delivered through House Of Welcome, House of Welcome - Catering, and Centre360 Youth and Family Service. Meadhbh Roche and Sarah Titheridge worked with our Head of tekFoundation, Joni, to refine their goals for the project and the ideal set of skills the volunteer(s) would need. In the end we were able to source 2 generous volunteers that are teaming up to support both the design and engineering work required to bring the sites into the 21st century 🙌 - Deepak Sethi and Michael Fung. Michael is a UX/UI designer by trade, but spent the early days of his career building Squarespace websites for not-for-profits and independent artists. Deepak Sethi is a seasoned web and technical project developer and was looking for an opportunity to use his talents for a good cause. The project is just kicking off but we can't wait to follow along in 2025 and to see the new websites - Michael and Deepak, THANK YOU!!
