As 2024 comes to a close, we want to say a massive thank you to everyone who's been part of The Lady Musgrave Trust's journey this year. Your generosity, whether through donations, time, resources or simply cheering us on, has made an incredible difference for young Queensland women and their children. As we approach 2025 – and reflecting on 140 years of supporting women in need – we're reminded that while our work remains essential, it’s the strength of our partnerships and the dedication of our community that makes real change possible. This year has been full of achievements, and your ongoing support continues to inspire us to push for a future where no woman has to face homelessness alone. For many, Christmas is the season of joy, but for others, it’s a time marked by fear and control. 🚨 In 2022, calls to the Queensland Police Service for domestic violence surged by 32% over the holiday period. Factors like increased time at home, financial pressures, and more social gatherings can amplify the risk for those in unsafe situations. A huge thank you to the incredible team at Corporate Travel Management (CTM) AU/NZ for their generosity and kindness this holiday season! 🎄 The CTM marketing team came together to pack hampers filled with essentials donated by Community Partners and CTM, along with toys lovingly contributed by Canopy Early Learning Centres. These hampers will soon be delivered to our tenants, bringing a little extra joy and comfort to young women and their children as they head into Christmas. Their efforts make such a difference, and we're so grateful for their support 💜

Friends of Louise Hope will be giftwrapping on Sunday 22 December in her memory. Louise, a dedicated supporter and long-time volunteer with The Lady Musgrave Trust, passed away suddenly in October. In memory of Louise’s commitment to community activities, friends of Louise’s will be giftwrapping in her memory at Myer Indooroopilly on Sunday 22 December. The Lady Musgrave Trust thanks Louise and her family for her tireless volunteering in support of Queensland women and their children. The Trust also thanks all of the friends of Louise’s who are volunteering their time this year to support a cause Louise cared so deeply about. With your support, we can continue working towards the vision we all share – to solve the problem of homelessness for at-risk Queensland women and their children.
