RE-IMAGINING | The power has always been in the customers hands, but nowadays it's even harder to find the right spaces to connect when media is an intrinsic part of our lives. Our clients need us to solve business problems through the lens of media, without it being intrusive or annoying. We don't want to leave the platforms we are engaging with to eat, shop, chat or learn, we want to stay in the content stream. Lucky that's what we do here at The Media Store, how can we Re-imagine Media today, for your tomorrow? FORECASTING | This week AdNews Australia released their 2025 predictions in the AdNews Forecast 2025 special report. Both our trading lead Mollie Cross and CSO Sam Cousins contributed towards this detailed piece of work. Sam said consumers continue to grapple with new realities, sacrificing lifestyle to survive. “We’ve seen the knock-on effect in media spend, and the tightening of privacy and restrictions,” said Cousins. “2025 will be the year of acceptance of these new realities and the evolved consumer behaviour that comes with it" Mollie commented that the lack of new content announcements across the TV networks for 2025 stood out. “Data is the name of the game at the moment, and it’s encouraging to see many providers looking to reduce friction for consumers through improved UX and removing the middlemen when it comes to access to deeper insights,” said Cross. “Democratising of the networks’ own first party data is becoming increasingly prevalent, such as we’ve seen from 7RedIQ, and I believe will be increasingly common at Upfronts. “The growing utilisation of predictive modelling to forecast performance and delivery is also very welcome – anything that means less makegoods can only be a good thing" A great handbook for 2025. REMINISCING | Today in AdNews Australia both our CEO Stephen Leeds and CSO Sam Cousins added their thoughts on their favourite media ads of the year. Stephen felt a strong connection to the Kia Ute campaign. "For a Korean original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to launch a ute into Australia is no mean feat, especially given it launched with no name. Within two months it delivered over 100 million impressions and 15,000 expressions of interest and was searched for more than the two market leaders," "The perfect cohesion of creative working hand in hand with media. Targeted placement in not only ute heartland assets but in content aligned to the talent was strategically and tactically clever. I remember this had everyone at The Media Store talking!" Sam felt a strong connection to the Toyota genuine accessories campaign "I have changed countless nappies in the boot, my kids continue to eat snacks and wipe their hands on the back seats, and we’ve watched sport and sunsets sat on the front of the car. This ad was borne of such deep insight into how people use their cars it is genius to connect an accessories campaign to this moment" Stephen Leeds Jacquie Alley GAICD Nicholas Hayes Sam Cousins #mediareimagined #creativity #greatads

WINNING I As a values-led agency, each month, our team nominates their colleagues for demonstrating one of our values: Integrity, People First, All In, Curiosity, Courage. The person with the most nominations each year is awarded the Karen Brennan Culture Award at our Christmas party, in honour of Kaz, a founding member of the agency whose energy and quirky nicknames galvanised the family culture for which we've become renowned. We are thrilled to announce that our Performance Director, Annie Marendaz, is our 2024 Karen Brennan Culture Award winner! Annie is a great connector within the agency, ensuring everyone feels warmly welcomed and accepted. She also sets a high standard for living out the company values each day so we couldn't think of a more worthy winner. Congratulations Annie! THINKING | As part of AdNews Australia perspectives series, today our CSO Sam Cousins gives her thoughts on rounding out 2024 and what 2025 will look like for advertisers and consumers alike. The main theme is that of Acceptance: Acceptance of consumer new realities and the evolved behaviour that will come with that will reshape 2025 habits and spending. "Adapting to financial realities and making informed decisions based on current circumstances is a mindset that could influence everything from spending habits to lifestyle choices in 2025". Naturally along side an acceptance mindset comes rejection of things that dont serve consumers anymore, "Brands will need to really deliver on purpose to tap into sacred space consumers will hold for themselves in 2025. We’re going to need to creatively use audience data to find a way through that, if consumer journeys are going to be more deliberate and take longer, media has never been more important to wrap around those moments of value" Click below to read the full article.
