This is where energy, community, and progress align ⚡📈 Today’s #ThrowbackThursday is taking us to Cloncurry where joint venture partners and fellow CIMIC Group Limited companies UGL and CPB Contractors attended the Critical Minerals Queensland Round Table and networking event representing Powerlink Queensland's CopperString 2032 project. It was an insightful day with presentations from Critical Minerals Queensland including an overview of their strategy and four key objectives to achieve Queensland’s ambition for a prosperous critical minerals sector: 👉 move faster, smarter 👉 maximise investment 👉 build value chains 👉 foster research and ESG excellence. By connecting the North West Minerals Province to the National Electricity Market (NEM) for the first time in Australia’s history, CopperString will be an enabling project to advance Queensland’s critical minerals industry. The event was a great opportunity for members of the CopperString project team to meet with and talk to key government and industry leads on the opportunities and challenges ahead in the region, as well as the importance of community support and legacy projects in North West Queensland. UGL works closely with stakeholders, drawing on the skills and experience of our utilities team to deliver meaningful outcomes. #unitewiththeverybest #CopperString2032 #CopperString #PowerlinkQueensland

Big things are happening at Selfs Point! 🚧 The TasWater Alliance is working to future-proof water infrastructure for the inner Hobart region through its sewage treatment plant upgrade. The TasWater Alliance, a partnership between TasWater UGL, and CPB Contractors, plays a crucial role in bringing this vision to life and ensuring a sustainable tomorrow. The upgrade is set to cut nutrient discharge into the Derwent River by 50%, enhancing river health and unlocking capacity for 28,000 new homes. 🌿🏠 Not only is this a win for the #environment, but it’s also bringing thousands of local jobs and generating $1 billion in economic activity for Tasmania! 📈 At UGL, our utilities team is dedicated to ensuring the success of projects like this plant upgrade, where we’re not only connecting infrastructure but also fostering a sustainable, community-focused future. 🌍 💧Learn more about how we’re helping reshape Tasmania’s future here: https://okt.to/9gBSHp #unitewiththeverybest #utilities

On International Migrants Day, we reflect on and celebrate the contributions of millions of migrants worldwide. 🌏 Australia is a diverse country with many migrants making it their new home, but a change in country can create a challenge in finding employment. Thanks to the Mentor Program at City East Community College, skilled migrants are able to receive help from working professional Australians. UGL is a supporter of this program with many of our employees signing up to be mentors. A success story is Dara Parvas who has secured a job with Ricardo Rail with the help of his UGL mentor Mark Flint. 👏 https://okt.to/wUXkKE After applying for hundreds of jobs and multiple interviews which didn’t lead to an offer, Dara met Mark. “I had really high hopes when I arrived,” said Dara. “I thought it's going to be super easy. I had permanent residency. I can speak English. But it was difficult. I struggled for almost nine months to find a job., The support of a mentor was really, really helpful. I got the call and they said they sent me the job offer. It was probably one of the happiest days of my life in Australia.” “I wanted to be a mentor because I could relate to how Dara was feeling,” said Mark. “I moved to Australia from the UK. It was about four months before I managed to find something, even though I was skilled. I also went through the frustration that migrants go through.” Dara has been in his job for nearly a year and now calls Mark his friend as well as a mentor. 📷 Vicki Skarratt Photography #unitewiththeverybest #internationalmigrantsday
