The Role

This Accounts Assistant role works within our busy Finance & Accounting team. Reporting to the GM - Accounting & Operations, you will be responsible for all aspects of supporting the Corporate Accountant – for both Prime Value Asset Management and our sister company, Shakespeare Property Group.


Specifically you'll be responsible for:

  • Recording transactions and posting journal entries into the general ledger system
  • Generating internal invoices between related entities
  • Liaising with employees regarding reimbursements and credit card expense reconciliations
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Maintaining the fixed assets register
  • Maintaining the integrity of the bank account details of suppliers
  • Assisting in the preparation and lodgement of Business Activity Statements
  • Following up on debtors’ payments
  • Assisting suppliers with any queries relating to account payments and or all other queries
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly financial reports
  • Setting up batch payments in all related bank accounts
  • Ad-hoc reporting and processing tasks as required
  • Maintaining accounts payable inbox and preparing weekly payments
  • Tracking aged payables


The Ideal Candidate

Our successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Diploma or degree in accounting or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years accounts payable/receivable/bookkeeping experience in equivalent roles
  • Sound knowledge and experience with MYOB is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Timely and diligent completion of deliverables
  • Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced skills required


You are skilled in the use of Excel and may have MYOB experience (highly advantageous). Attention to detail, meeting deadlines, planning and organizational skills along with your ability to maintain professional relationships, both internal and external, will also be highly regarded.
