The Opportunity

The Director of Finance, Pharmacy, is a key leadership role reporting directly to the CEO of Pharmacy and Psychology, with a dotted line to the GM of Finance, Strategy, and Performance. As an integral member of the Pharmacy leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing financial management and partnering with the Pharmacy management team to drive optimal business performance. You will ensure that financial controls and best practices are consistently upheld while leading the end-to-end finance function, including delivering key finance outcomes. This role will also involve overseeing financial compliance, providing business partnering support to the Pharmacy management team, and taking ownership of reporting to our franchisees. This is a pivotal position in driving the success and growth of Ramsay Pharmacy Group.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for reporting the financial performance of Ramsay’s Pharmacy business.
  • Oversee all accounting and financial reporting deliverables, including monthly results reporting to the Australian Head Office Finance team and leading the external audit.
  • Ensure the integrity of Pharmacy services' financial systems and processes, including balance sheet and P&L accuracy, and timely, accurate franchisee reporting.
  • Provide timely, meaningful, and insightful analytics on business performance to management, identifying corrective actions for potential issues.
  • Lead the Pharmacy budget preparation process and continuously monitor performance to ensure targets are met.
  • Initiate and assist in financial modelling, as well as financial, commercial, and technology projects as required.
  • Partner with the Chief Executive Officer, Pharmacy, and the management team to drive financial operational improvements and achieve strategic priorities.
  • Ensure adequate and timely support for the pharmacy franchisee network.
  • Support business development activities by providing commercial support to the operations team and analysing new opportunities aligned with growth strategies.
  • Demonstrate highly effective leadership skills, motivating, inspiring, and developing others to achieve business, team, and individual goals.

What You’ll Need

  • Over 5 years of demonstrated experience in financial management within senior roles of similar scope and responsibility.
  • Professional qualifications in accountancy or finance management (CA or CPA).
  • Strong strategic thinking, commercial insight, and analytical expertise.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively.
  • Extensive experience in data analysis and forecasting.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Proven leadership experience in high-volume environments, with the ability to manage workloads effectively to meet deadlines and service standards. Highly developed leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop teams to achieve business, team, and individual goals.

Desirable

  • Hands-on experience working with large accounting software systems and financial reporting models.
  • Background in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or franchise environments, with a strong understanding of industry-specific financial operations.
