SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Task & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Manage payroll processes and ensure timely payments.
• Oversee invoices, purchase orders, and accounts payable/receivable. Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies.
• Prepare financial statements for management and statutory bodies.
• Conduct financial investigations and prepare detailed reports.
• Advise on business mergers, capital financing, and insolvency matters.
• Ensure compliance with statutory financial reporting requirements.
• Prepare and lodge taxation returns for individuals and organizations.
• Maintain and introduce effective accounting systems.
• Liaise with financial institutions to establish funding arrangements.
• Manage internal control systems to safeguard financial data.
• Appraise cash flow and financial risk of capital projects.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and providing commentary.
• Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations.
• Support the finance team with ad-hoc financial analysis and tasks.
• Manage and communicate financial matters with internal stakeholders.
• Create Ad hoc management reports on need basis.
• Closely work with Finance Manager to review costings annually.
  
  

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• CA or CPA qualified with at least 2 years of experience in similar roles
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and tax regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB)
• Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse financial data effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
