🇪🇺 #Eurobarometer: 77% of EU Workers Want Leaders and Managers Involved in AI Design and Execution https://lnkd.in/eK7QUD96 According to the latest European Commission report, 60% of EU workers believe Artificial Intelligence positively impacts work distribution, and 62% think digital technologies contribute positively to the world. Most EU workers are not scared of losing their jobs because of digitalisation and technology, as they find themselves skilled to navigate future landscapes. More than half (56%) of employees see recent digital advancements as beneficial to society. However, there is a clear demand for robust regulations to mitigate potential risks associated with AI and digital tools, particularly regarding worker protection and decision-making processes. Withdrawing the AI Liability Directive will not help improve this need for more security. 🔵 CEC European Managers insists on the right to a human manager. CFE-CGC | CFDT | CGT | UNSA | Solidaires | FSU L'égalité entre les femmes et les hommes n'est toujours pas atteinte dans le monde du travail et la société. Les femmes subissent toujours des écarts de salaire (23,5 % de moins en moyenne), des carrières précaires, une sous-représentation aux postes de cadres (42,6 % alors qu’elles sont plus diplômées) et une surreprésentation dans les emplois à temps partiel (80 %). Elles touchent aussi des retraites inférieures de 38 % et assument majoritairement la charge de la parentalité. Les réductions budgétaires dans les services publics les affectent davantage, et les mesures gouvernementales, comme la baisse de rémunération en cas d’arrêt maladie, accentuent ces inégalités. La lutte contre les violences sexistes et sexuelles reste insuffisante, avec une application minimale des normes internationales. Face à cette situation, un appel est lancé pour faire du 8 mars 2025 une journée de mobilisation en faveur de : 🔹l’égalité salariale et professionnelle 🔹la revalorisation des métiers féminisés, 🔹une meilleure transparence salariale, 🔹l’abrogation de la retraite à 64 ans, 🔹un financement adéquat des services publics, 🔹des moyens renforcés contre les violences sexistes et sexuelles. Employees leave for many reasons—career growth, personal changes, dissatisfaction—but their experiences within an organisation remain valuable data points, and managers can gather this valuable information to ensure the company’s productivity. The alternative view—”If they are leaving, their opinions don’t matter”—rests on the assumption that their relevance to the company disappears once an employee exits. This approach reinforces a toxic culture and damages the company’s reputation and external relationships. A non-biased management would collect insights from departing employees to foster productivity and competitiveness. 👩🏫 Educate all employees, particularly those in leadership, about implicit biases and their impacts – #BeyondBias 2/20 https://lnkd.in/dMSiXaUj The second recommendation of the #BeyondBias campaign calls on organisations to educate all employees—especially those in leadership positions—about the nature of implicit biases and their far-reaching impacts. 🌈 Organisations are encouraged to integrate bias-awareness training into ongoing leadership development programs and to use practical tools—such as the engaging posters and business cards featured in the #BeyondBias campaign—to keep the conversation alive and to foster competitiveness and productivity. As European companies strive to maintain competitiveness and build a coherent “Union of Skills,” initiatives like #BeyondBias highlight that the road to inclusion begins with systemic change and individual education. Panelists highlighted the need for clear accountability in data research. “Data Researchers provide facts with confidence." Among them, Christian Mangold, Director General for Communication at European Parliament explained how this institution is tackling EU’s society pulse. With 42% of citizens holding a positive view of the EU Parliament, nearly 50% consistently voting in EU Elections, and 7 in 10 believing that the Union significantly impacts their lives, “it is clear that data-driven insights remain central to both policy formation and public sentiment." 🇮🇹 “Whether you are 25 or 55, what should matter is your ability to do the job”, says Cinzia Melis, #BeyondBias. https://lnkd.in/daDJk-mb 🏛️ Cinzia Melis is a lawyer from Rome (CIDA Manager) who participated in unconscious bias training for the EU Project Beyunbi. She has joined the #BeyondBIas campaign reflecting on ageism. Melis explains that many hiring managers operate under the assumption that age correlates directly with experience, making it more difficult for younger candidates to be assigned leadership roles. A biased management approach believes, “We need to know their age to gauge their experience level.” However, this perspective often leads to age discrimination, loss of talent, innovation, and less competitiveness. By adopting CV anonymisation, companies can focus purely on competencies and professional achievements rather than making assumptions based on demographic characteristics.
