The Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) aims to enhance EU cybersecurity by ensuring that digital products and services remain secure throughout their lifecycle. It promotes proactive risk management and accountability, enabling businesses and users to collaborate in building a safer digital future. To support CRA implementation, the European Commission has issued a standardization request to the European Standardization Organizations focusing on both horizontal standards for a generic framework and vertical standards for specific product risks. The STAN4CR project, funded by European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), aims to accelerate EU standardization efforts, fostering collaboration and coherence in the evolving cybersecurity landscape. The webinar will provide insights into how CEN-CENELEC is engaging stakeholders, including industry professionals and businesses, in the standardization process, ensuring broad support and collaboration. This webinar is an introductory event before a workshop on 8 April in Copenhagen/online where stakeholders can learn more about the horizontal standards that are developed to support the CRA and participate in discussions with other experts. Join us to learn how CEN-CENELEC’s work will help strengthen cyber resilience and how you can contribute. Register: https://lnkd.in/dTM2uZ-P #training4standards

      +1
  • On Thursday 12 February, our UNIDO colleagues from the Directorate for Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development Bernard Bau and Christian Lasser visited the CEN and CENELEC Management Centre for insightful discussions on our collaboration under the Africa Trade Competitiveness and Market Access Programme funded by the European Union. A very fruitful exchange on our partnership to enhance standardization, quality infrastructure, and trade facilitation across the continent. Looking forward to taking our joint efforts even further for a stronger, more competitive Africa and enhanced EU-Africa trade! 💡🤝 #UNIDO #CENCENELEC #TradeCompetitiveness #MarketAccess #AfricaTrade

The RISERS Project Aligns with the EU Competitiveness Compass The European Commission's Competitiveness Compass, published on January 29, 2025, outlines several key legal initiatives that may have an impact on the promotion, upscaling and standardization of Industrial Symbiosis (IS) – core themes of the RISERS project. 🔍 What’s relevant for IS? 📜 Circular Economy Act: New incentives for recycling infrastructure and secondary raw materials, directly boosting IS and resource efficiency while minimizing landfill and incineration. IS plays a critical role by turning waste, by-products, and secondary materials from one industry into valuable inputs for another—reducing resource consumption and environmental impact. 📏 EU Standardization Reforms: A push for global leadership in industrial standards, including in 5G, AI, IoT, renewable energy, and EV charging-  areas relevant for digitalizing and upscaling IS. ⚡ Clean Industrial Deal: Strategic support for clean-tech and energy-intensive industries, fostering circular business models and resource-sharing practices. 🚀 How does RISERS fit in? The RISERS project is building a standardization roadmap for Industrial Symbiosis, addressing priority synergies, digitalization, and End-Of-Waste criteria—critical for legal compliance. Currently, no harmonized IS standard exists, and we aim to change that. Standardization plays a key role in turning research into real-world solutions💡 With our newly published Position Paper on the upcoming Framework Programme 10 (#FP10), CEN and CENELEC set out key priorities to integrate standardization more effectively into European R&I. A strong standardization framework is essential for Europe’s technological leadership, global competitiveness, and strategic autonomy. We are looking forward to discussing our position on FP10 with the European Parliament’s ITRE WG on Horizon Europe, led by Mr Christian Ehler, MEP. Our three main points for discussion are: ✔️ How can we ensure that standardization is embedded in R&I projects to strengthen the Single Market? ✔️ What support mechanisms are needed to equip researchers and innovators with the skills to engage in standardization? ✔️ Which financial and structural incentives could encourage R&I projects to contribute to European standardization efforts? 📖 To read the full Position Paper, click https://lnkd.in/eddUqHZr Feel free to contact us if you would like to have a chat about it! 🤝 #TrustStandards #Research #Innovation #InnovationGap #SingleMarket #Competitiveness #StrategicAutonomy  Sebastian Vogel, Claire DALIER
