All partners in Belgium (Leiedal, City of Kortrijk and VIVES University of Applied Sciences) want to work more data-driven, improve and expand existing ad hoc data sharing initiatives into a structural vertical data sharing platform between regional and municipal governments. This platform will support practical applications to facilitate data driven decision making on mobility policies that can be developed, tested and then applied to other municipalities in the region. The first practical use-case is related to data-driven cycling policy in Kortrijk. Aurelie Van Obbergen, Intercommunale Leiedal: “Developing a data application starting from a concrete question, raised by mobility professionals and rooted in their everyday practice, helped create awareness on the potential of data driven solutions to support policy making and engage a broad group of stakeholders.” More at https://lnkd.in/eKXjZMaj

🚀 Showcasing Data for All at Lnett’s Visit to Egersund! 🚀 Rolf Andre Leidland presented our Data for All project to LnettAS, Rogaland's regional grid company. During their visit, Lnett explored our region's sustainable initiatives, including hydrogen production, industrial symbiosis, and renewable energy projects. 💡 Data for All’s data-driven approach aligns perfectly with the Sirkulære Kaupanes project, which aims to optimize energy and resource sharing within local industries. This collaboration is helping Egersund become a model for circular economy and sustainable industrial growth. #Data4All #Sustainability #ENHKF #EnergyInnovation #Lnett #CircularEconomy #GreenEnergy #IndustrialSymbiosis #Egersund

🌍 Inspired, more motivated, and stronger connected! That’s how we’re returning from Barcelona, where the Data for All project was proudly showcased at the Smart City Expo!   Hans Verscheure from the Stad Kortrijk and Bieke Blauwblomme from Leiedal had the opportunity to present the Data for All initiative and the Belgian Traffic of Data pilot at the Belgian booth to an international audience.   🏙️ Big and small cities face similar challenges: - Climate change impacts like flooding, heat islands, and urgent renovation needs - Mobility and logistics demand, modal shift, e-mobility - Urban planning to create livable and healthy urban spaces - Remaining economically and touristically attractive regions and so on   Digital twins are often posed as the magic solution, and we believe they are, but to avoid them becoming expensive, isolated systems with low ROI, we need to: 🔹 Technically build a thoughtful data infrastructure for storage and data exchange 🔹 Establish a clear framework for ethical choices, while ensuring citizen support and public awareness 🔹 Organize and collaborate as a smart region, ensuring that small cities and municipalities are included   🌍 Mobility, climate, livability, economic development… are each challenges that surpass municipal or city borders. They affect both big cities and small towns, and they require a collective effort to address. Together, we can tackle these shared challenges.   💡 It was incredibly valuable to exchange ideas and align our Data for All dimensions with other European projects and initiatives such as Twin4Resilience, weCompair , Plateau, EU LTD Toolbox, URBREATH Horizon Europe Project, and many more.   A big thank you to Digitaal Vlaanderen and Kenniscentrum Vlaamse Steden for giving us the opportunity to share our insights and experiences! #SmartCityExpo #DataForAll #InterregNorthSea #SmartRegions #DigitalTransformation #ClimateAction #Mobility #Sustainability #Collaboration #Innovation

Data 4 All partners in Norway (Eigersund Municipality, Eigersund Næring og Havn (ENH) and the University of Stavanger (UiS)) work to make public data more accessible and improve the application for permits processes for businesses. An ecosystem around a centralized digital service will streamline the sharing and use of public data between local authorities and businesses. This will provide companies with easier access to necessary municipal services. Rolf Andre Leidland, Project Manager at Eigersund Næring og Havn: “The Norwegian pilot in Data 4 All has been a valuable journey in understanding the true potential of data for improving municipal services. We’ve learned that the key is not just collecting data, but making it accessible and actionable for local decision-makers." More at https://lnkd.in/e5By9XsP.
