On Tuesday ,10 December, from 11:30-12:30, EBRAINS Joint-CEO Philippe Vernier will moderate the ‘Role of Research Infrastructures in European Brain Health Research' panel at the ‘Towards a Strengthened European Cooperation in Brain Health Research’ conference in Budapest! The conference will focus on two interconnected aspects: addressing brain health with a holistic view through cooperation among stakeholders in the European research and innovation ecosystem, and the role of joint European research and innovation initiatives in promoting brain health by incentivising and funding collaborative research to achieve societal impact. Last week, EBRAINS had an Open Space for Collaborative Achievements (OSCA) online meeting, the first of a series. The topic of the event was “Data Dialogues: Navigating Transparency, Privacy, and Open Science." Large-scale models of information processing in brain-like networks are coming to EBRAINS! With millions of neurons and billions of synapses, the new generation of open models are powerful tools to study the complex dynamics in large networks, with implications for basic neuroscience, neuromorphic computing and AI. On EBRAINS, researchers will soon be able to use large-scale neuronal network models as adaptable building blocks in their investigations and combine them with other brain simulation tools across scales. The first Design Co-Creation workshop - Design Co-Lab - within the Virtual Brain Twin project took place last Thursday in Madrid. The event was attended by psychiatrists, neuroscientists, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid innovation researchers, experts and people with lived experience in #schizophrenia, and their relatives.  It presented a unique opportunity to engage in a dialogue about schizophrenia from academic, scientific, clinical and social perspectives, including the experiences and insights of families affected by that condition. The event facilitated a dialogue with the upcoming European Partnership for Brain Health.
