Do you know the answer?
Time for #FridayFacts: Did you know that Europe is getting better at managing its waste? We have cut down landfill rates from 23% to 17% since 2010. But... While we're sending less waste to landfills, we're actually creating more waste overall. The residues from sorting have doubled since 2010. Find out the right answer at the link in the comments.

Calling households in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia and Germany! The CARE (Circular consumption Activities to tRansform households toward material Efficiency) project is all about promoting sustainable living and combating climate change. It's now inviting households in these countries to join its circular food and clothing pilot projects. They'll learn how to reduce food waste and extend the life of their clothes, supported by expert advice and a strong community. It's a very down to earth approach to the circular economy: food and clothing consumption are two of the most resource-intensive household activities. Participants will engage in creative activities and learn tips and tricks to minimise food waste or make their clothes last longer. The CARE circular pilot projects will take place in Tampere (Finland), Asker (Norway), Gothenburg (Sweden), Lääne-Harju (Estonia) and Berlin (Germany). Here's what EuRIC - The European Recycling Industries, one of ECESP's Coordination Group members, feels about the Clean Industrial Deal.
𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥: 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 👉 That’s the takeaway from the EU’s long-awaited plan for energy transition and industrial growth. The EU has all the tools – Critical Raw Materials Act, NZIA, Clean Industrial Deal. Now it’s time to use them right. The Clean Industrial Deal must drive action, not just ambition. 🎙️Recyclers are struggling with soaring energy costs, weak domestic demand, and endless red tape. "There can be no decarbonisation and competitiveness without circularity, and no sustainable future without a strong recycling industry", says EuRIC's Secretary General, Julia Ettinger. We've released a statement reacting to the Clean Industrial Deal and outlining 9 key recommendations to actually make it work 🔗 euric.link/sxb EUWID | Recycling and Waste Management EUWID | Recycling und Entsorgung ENDS Europe Recycling Today Waste & Recycling Magazine RECYCLING magazin letsrecycle.com IndustriAmbiente RETEMA David Vidorreta Recycling International Resource Recycling, Inc. Want to read about how the ECESP could be considered Europe’s best bet for a sustainable future? ❅Maria Nikolopoulou, member of the European Economic and Social Committee and the ECESP Steering Group, has written an article on this: "The shift to a circular economy is no longer a niche discussion but a necessity. From fashion to food systems, construction to consumer goods, how we produce and consume will change whether we like it or not as the current trend exceeds our planetary limitations. The ECESP is helping to lay the foundations for the transition to occur in an organised way that will benefit people and the planet." This is encouraging news!
Success for circularity! ♻️ Europe’s making strides toward a sustainable, more competitive future. Textile and food waste are precious resources, so we're teaming up to tackle this head-on. Together with the co-legislators, The European Parliament and the Council, we've agreed on new rules that will help reduce food waste, create a single market for textile waste and spark investments in innovative solutions.

RREUSE - Reuse and Recycling European Union Social Enterprises is also a member of the ECESP Coordination Group, making its voice heard and promoting the circular economy!
The #EcodesignForum, the European Commission’s expert group dedicated to implementing the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (#ESPR), kicks off today. As a reappointed member, RREUSE is once more at the table, ensuring the voices of its social enterprise members are heard. 📣 For a truly circular economy, products must be built to last, easy to repair, and reusable. 🔄 To support this vision, we continuously advocate for stronger reuse and repair regulations, integrating social factors into circular economy policies, prioritising products with high reuse potential in the ESPR working plan, ensuring transparency with Digital Product Passports, and extending the ban on unsold goods' destruction. Sustainable design must be the norm, not the exception! Read more on our priorities 👉 https://lnkd.in/gMBYZKTN #SocialAndCircular #Ecodesign #Sustainability #CircularEconomy
