Today we want to highlight our member Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) and Dr. Ramadan Ilazi for their participation in the Civil Society-UN Dialogue on Peacebuilding in New York 💪 🤝 EPLO's Director, Sonya Reines-Djivanides, was also present, supporting and representing all the member organizations of our network in this important dialogue space between the United Nations and #peacebuilding CSOs. 👏A big thanks and congratulations to our member Interpeace for the incredible work carried out in preparing this conference together with the UN Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO) at UN Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA).
KCSS is proud to announce its participation in the Second Annual Civil Society-UN Dialogue on Peacebuilding. Dr. Ramadan Ilazi, Head of Research at KCSS, is attending the event, thanks to the support from UN’s Peacebuilding Support Office (PBSO),European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO)) and the National Endowment for Democracy. During the event, Dr. Ilazi highlighted the importance of moving beyond traditional technocratic approaches in the UN's cooperation with civil society. He stated, "The UN needs to find ways to de-technocratize cooperation with civil society on peacebuilding, explore pathways to bring in the private sector, and build alliances with private actors to strengthen peacebuilding efforts. At the same time, we must focus on identifying and countering efforts that undermine peace." Through its participation, KCSS is contributing to shaping global peacebuilding strategies and amplifying the voice of local actors. As the dialogue continues, KCSS remains committed to promoting innovative, inclusive, and impactful solutions to the complex challenges of sustaining peace in Kosovo and the Western Balkans. https://lnkd.in/dNzN8M2h
