Hello IAASers!!! 🌍 World Wetlands Day is celebrated annually to raise global awareness about the critical role of wetlands for people and the planet. This year’s theme, Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future, highlights the urgent need to conserve these vital ecosystems for their ecological, social, and economic benefits. Wetlands are biodiversity hotspots, natural carbon sinks, and essential for water purification and flood control. However, they are disappearing three times faster than forests, calling for immediate action. In line with this global movement and alongside Wetlands International, International Forestry Students' Association (IFSA), Youth Engaged in Wetlands - YEW, RE-PEAT, and the @Global Peatland Initiative, we are co-organizing the webinar "World Wetlands Day: Youth for Our Common Future" on Monday the 3rd of February: 1-2 PM GMT. Youth are not just stakeholders but changemakers who bring innovation, passion, and a fresh perspective to conservation efforts.
