This event provided a valuable platform for municipal and inter-municipal teams to strengthen their ability to identify and access European funding opportunities, navigate application processes, and explore current #EU programmes. It also highlighted the work of Magellan Circle in Brussels in supporting CIM Douro and its municipalities. By sharing knowledge and building capacity, we are empowering local teams to seize new opportunities and ensure a more informed and strategic approach to European funding. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲? 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗞𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗸 𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵! Our colleague Julia Kosiek has co-authored an insightful study in the European Research Studies Journal that examines how noise emissions from port container terminals affect the well-being of local residents - and what can be done to promote better coexistence. The research highlights the importance of collaborative environmental management and advocates stronger partnerships between ports, local communities, and city authorities to create more liveable urban spaces. At Magellan Circle, we believe that sustainable development, urban mobility, and stakeholder engagement are key to creating better cities. Over two productive days, we connected with policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers, exchanging ideas on innovative maritime solutions and technologies. It was also the perfect opportunity to showcase our portfolio of EU-funded projects contributing to a greener, more sustainable waterborne sector, with a special focus on our Horizon Europe project #BlueBarge. Leading the naval sector towards a sustainable future ⚓ On 30 January, Magellan Circle co-organised the "Listening to the Industry" Workshop as part of the Roteiro Naval Carbono Zero (RNCZ) project, at the Centre for Marine Sciences (CCMAR) of the University of the Algarve. This event, promoted by Fórum Oceano and CEVAL - Confederação Empresarial do Alto Minho, the coordinators of the project, is part of a cycle of regional meetings aimed at gathering contributions from the Shipbuilding, Repair and Maintenance industry for a roadmap adapted to national realities, with concrete #decarbonisation targets between 2025 and 2050.🌱 Magellan Circle supports #RNCZ with communication, dissemination and event logistics to ensure meaningful engagement among industry stakeholders and drive collaboration for a greener and more competitive maritime transport sector. 🚢. #SustainableNavigation #NavalIndustry #Decarbonisation #GreenInnovation

Magellan Circle takes the stage on Portuguese TV! 🎥 Last Sunday, Ana Paula Mesquita, CEO of Magellan Circle, took part in the programme "Nós Europa" (We Europe) on Porto Canal to discuss the growing presence of the Área Metropolitana do Porto (AMP) in Brussels. The debate with Sérgio Humberto, MEP and former Vice-President of the AMP, highlighted the crucial work being done to strengthen the region's influence in Brussels. As the official representative of the AMP at the heart of the #EU, Magellan Circle has been working to ensure that the interests of the 17 municipalities that make up the region are effectively defended at the European level. Since establishing its Brussels representation two years ago, AMP has been strengthening its engagement with European institutions. Great to see live the potential of automated vessels in inland waterways! 🛳️ 🤖 The FOREMAST project successfully held its first General Assembly on January 29–30, 2025, in Ghent, Belgium, bringing together key partners and experts to discuss the latest advancements in Small Flexible Automated Zero-emissions (SFAZ) vessels and participate in a live sail demonstration of the AVATAR vessel organised by Ghent University, SEAFAR and OHB. As the communication and dissemination manager of the project, Magellan Circle participated in the two day event and presented the latest progress with PNO Consultants during the work packages discussion.
