Drumroll: This year, we're not just publishing figures on car sharing, but also on shared bikes and scooters in Belgium in 2024. 🚗🚲🛴 Some highlights: 🔹 Nearly 50,000 shared vehicles available: 🚲 21,721 shared bikes 🛴 18,764 shared scooters 🚗 8,976 shared cars 🔹 Explosive growth in usage: 📍 24 million trips with shared bikes and scooters in 2024 📍 1.96 million active users 📍 Brussels leads in shared mobility per capita 🔹 Carsharing is growing too! 🚗 22% more users of roundtrip and peer-to-peer shared cars in Flanders 📢 More shared mobility = more usage From now on, we're looking beyond just car sharing, because shared bikes and scooters also have a significant impact on the modal shift, sustainable mobility, and the space in our neighborhoods. Thank you for your trust Way To Go, this truly is a map that matters!
Over the past years, many public authorities have been building shared mobility dashboards. However, only a few of them focus providing information for users. With Way To Go, we created a new shared mobility map of Belgium in collaboration with Nazka Mapps. The aim of this map is to provide solid and real-time information for (potential) shared mobility users. What’s new? ✔️ More than 95%+ of the 50.000 shared vehicles in Belgium are visible ✔️ Each data point = a vehicle or car/bikesharing station ✔️ Filter by fuel type, transmission, and/or provider. ✔️ Dynamic pop-up per station/vehicle, containing price information, operational model, car model, link to the app-store,... ✔️ A back-end download function to collect all figures monthly in order to monitor the number and type of vehicles in Belgium. ✔️ Completely future-proof GBFS-based. Vandaag nam ik nog eens een duik in het verleden met Nostalgeo én de Ferrariskaart... Onlangs bezocht iemand Nostalgeo voor het eerst, een "prachtige tool" om oude foto's te bekijken in combinatie met het huidige straatbeeld. (Een fascinerend gegeven, dat ze bij Woestijnvis ook opgenomen hebben in de nieuwe #manbijthond). Tijdens de verkenning van Nostalgeo ontdekte die persoon ook de Ferrariskaart, een indrukwekkend gedetailleerde kaart uit de 18e eeuw die we ook in Nostalgeo geïntegreerd hebben. Deze kaart toont onze regio van die tijd op een manier die je nergens anders ziet. Maar al die details en oude nummercodes riepen wel vragen op. Wat betekenen ze toch? En waar vind je een legenda? Hier biedt Digitaal Vlaanderen met Geopunt een mooie oplossing. Op hun website vind je aanvullende kaartlagen die de symbolen en nummercodes op de Ferrariskaart verder verduidelijken.
