The first Ariane 6 flight successfully lifted off from Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana on July 9th 2024. This maiden flight adds a new capability to Europe's fleet of launcher systems. 🚀SABCA is the European leader and sole supplier for the design and manufacture of TVAS (Thrust Vector Actuation Systems), used to steer the engine nozzles on each stage of Ariane 6: the boosters, the lower central stage and the upper central stage. 👉🏻The role of our electromechanical actuators is to act on nozzle orientation and therefore on the thrust vector of the engines, thereby controlling the rocket's trajectory during its flight phase. ✅These electromechanical and hydraulic actuators are a 100% Sabca design - we also produce a large proportion of the metal and mechatronic parts, as well as the final assembly, qualification and acceptance testing of the TVAS at the SABCA Brussels site. Apart from that, Sabca also manufactures parts of the Ariane fuselage. 🎉Congrats to all the teams that have been working day in, day out during the last 10 years to help make this maiden flight a success. March 26, 2024 - Today, His Majesty the King visited the Brussels headquarters of SABCA. In light of Orizio Group celebrating the 100 years of Belgian Aviation, we were honored to welcome His Majesty the King at the industrial SABCA site in Brussels for a work visit. On this occasion we discussed the different initiatives taken to stimulate innovation and support sustainable growth in the Belgian aerospace sector.
