ScioTeq recently participated in a joint Integrated Combat Solution (ICS) demonstration, developed by BAE Systems and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace at the AUSA 2024 Annual Meeting and Expo. The ICS is a digital integration platform that combines hardware and software to improve situational awareness and combat capability. This system is a transformational situational awareness capability that vastly increases Soldiers’ battlefield situational awareness and allows them to share and rapidly pass targeting information across the battlefield to other platforms, and then engage a target remotely. It is platform agnostic and includes networked sensors on different battlefield assets to allow for command and control from a single screen. Army formations face threats that extend from kinetics to unmanned ISR drones to electronic warfare, which means much of their situational awareness comes from displays and visualization systems inside vehicles like Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. Display screens within army vehicles are the eyes for maneuver forces needing to command and control. To that end, the US Army is upfitting vehicles with big 24" or 32" displays that present multiple sources of data for a full operational picture.
