🚀 Advancing SYNTHEMA’s Privacy-Preserving Federated Learning Platform We’re excited to share key milestones from Work Package 2 (WP2), driving the development of SYNTHEMA’s secure Federated Learning (FL) platform for healthcare! 🌐 Highlights: 🔧 Finalized architecture and core functionalities, reaching Sprint 7 of development. 🤝 Collaborated with Flower developers to enhance FL capabilities. 📅 On track for deployment by December 2024, with options for remote and on-site implementation. 📢 SYNTHEMA Consortium Meets with Our Ethical and Legal Advisory Board (ELAB) Today, some of the SYNTHEMA consortium members had the pleasure of meeting with our Ethical and Legal Advisory Board (ELAB), comprised of leading experts guiding us through the complex ethical landscape in healthcare innovation with AI tools. 🔹 Federica Russo - Professor at Utrecht University, renowned for her expertise in the philosophy of science, technology, and information 🔹 Magdalena Kogut - Czarkowska- Lawyer with deep expertise in privacy, IP, and IT law. 🔹 Kathrin Cresswell - Senior Lecturer at the The University of Edinburgh and an expert in technology’s societal impacts, particularly AI in healthcare. The board was impressed by SYNTHEMA’s commitment to proactively addressing ethical considerations, setting the groundwork for ethical, responsible innovation in synthetic data for healthcare. Together, we assessed our current position and outlined a clear path forward, reinforcing SYNTHEMA's mission.
