🎓Last week, Eliott Ramoisiaux, PhD had the opportunity to return to his former university, Université libre de Bruxelles, to give a seminar to MA2 Physics Engineering students and future Medical Physicists about Monte Carlo simulations applied to Radiation Protection. Thanks Professor Pierre-Etienne Labeau for the invitation! 🔬The session kicked off with a refresher on Monte Carlo concepts, followed by hands-on exercises where students explored proton beam interactions in a water phantom and more complex materials, assessed the neutron and gamma ambient equivalent dose rate around the target, and designed concrete shielding according to radiation protection criteria using variance reduction techniques. ☢️It was a fantastic experience to show for what type of applications TBE is using Monte Carlo techniques. 💼 Are you interested?
