We are seeking a dynamic Business Controller to join our team in Kontich, Antwerp, with experience in financial analysis and reporting. You will play a key role in guiding the growth of our portfolio companies by providing detailed financial insights, and collaborating with management to achieve sustainable success.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities in supporting our Portfolio Companies will include

  • Developing and managing the company's annual budget and periodic forecasts, including cash planning and forecasting;
  • Providing detailed trend & variance analysis and financial insights to support decision-making;
  • Assisting in the development of both short term-budgets and long-term strategic plans with financial modeling and scenario analysis;
  • Analyzing revenue & profitability metrics responsible for financial fluctuations and supporting operational KPIs (e.g. price / volume analysis, profitability by product / customer, etc.)
  • Analyzing cost structures and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements;
  • Supporting in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, supporting the accuracy, proper recognition and completeness of financial data;
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards;
  • Identifying financial risks and developing mitigation strategies;
  • Preparing & monitoring the cash flow planning & forecasting;
  • Implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations;
  • Preparing monthly reports and communicating weekly KPIs and financial figures, including explanations for budget deviations.

You are the perfect fit if you…

  • Hold a master's degree in finance, business economics, commercial engineering, or a related field;
  • Have an excellent academic track record;
  • Have proven record of managing to results and communicating clear & effectively;
  • Have 4 to 7 years of work experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting;
  • Are highly analytical and proficient in Excel;
  • Have critical thinking skills, can spot inconsistencies, and reason logically;
  • Can work independently;
  • Are results-driven and motivated to go the extra mile;
  • Seek a steep career path, with the opportunity to grow into a C-executive role;
  • Want to achieve maximum impact and are hands-on;
  • Work in a structured approach, and have the flexibility to quickly adapt;
  • Are an out-of-the-box thinker, are bold and dare to disagree;
  • Have a passion for winning and are convinced that winning is nicer as a team;
  • Are fluent in both spoken and written Dutch and English, French is a plus.
