Financial Accountant & Controller

Role purpose

Support the finance team – specifically on the insurance technical subjects.

Principal accountabilities

The financial accountant & controller will be responsible for supporting the financial operations, together with the other team members, by assisting in a variety of tasks in the technical domain:

• Assist in the preparation of the local and group reporting
• Collaborate with other departments to get insights to support the senior management
• Support the quarterly and yearly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Assist on the optimization and simplification of procedures and improvement of the control environment
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
• Solving balance sheet issues
• Draft and gather information for the external audit
• Input of invoice and payment runs

The financial accountant & controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

Competences needed:

Education: Finance degree  

Experience

• Min. of 2 years of experience in external audit or controlling function
• Experience in insurance is a strong plus, not a must

Skills

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a changing environment
• Knowledge of the MS office packages
• Excellent Microsoft excel skills
• Proficiency in Oracle NetSuite is a plus
• Strong interest in reporting tools, proficiency in QlickSense is a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Hands-on and pro-active
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• English is required, other language is a plus
