If BNP Paribas Fortis Private Banking & Wealth Management had a sign in the Chinese zodiac, it would be the Dragon. Thanks to our partnership with the Vanhaerents Art Collection, our clients were able to enjoy a unique artistic experience: discovering the 'Year of the Dragon' exhibition, guided by the Vanhaerents family themselves. The exhibition, which opens to the public on 21 September, is inspired by the Chinese zodiac sign of the Dragon. Creativity, curiosity, confidence and a commitment to excellence - this sign symbolises the values that drive us every day! The exhibition brings together key works from the collection, including a monumental creation by Ai Weiwei that is suspended from the ceiling. Recently acquired, this 22-metre long snake is made from the life jackets of refugees who have crossed the dangerous waters of the Mediterranean. Als BNP Paribas Fortis Private Banking & Wealth Management een Chinees teken was, zou het wellicht de draak zijn. Dankzij ons partnerschap met de Vanhaerents Art Collection beleefden onze cliënten een unieke kunstervaring: de tentoonstelling 'Year of the Dragon', met de familie Vanhaerents als gids. De tentoonstelling – op 21.09 toegankelijk voor het publiek – is geïnspireerd op het Chinese sterrenbeeld van de draak. Creativiteit, nieuwsgierigheid, vertrouwen en streven naar uitmuntendheid: het teken staat symbool voor de waarden die ons elke dag drijven! De tentoonstelling brengt de hoogtepunten van de collectie samen, zoals het monumentale werk van Ai Weiwei dat onlangs werd aangekocht en aan het plafond hangt: een 22 meter lange slang, gemaakt van de reddingsvesten van vluchtelingen die zich een weg baanden door het gevaarlijke water van de Middellandse Zee. Timmerwerkt is een schrijnwerkerij die vluchtelingen een springplank biedt naar de arbeidsmarkt en zo hun integratie vergemakkelijkt. Dit is meteen de laatste organisate van onze 'Coup de Coeur' selectie. Timmerwerkt ziet diversiteit als een troef. Zo draagt de organisatie bij aan een meer gastvrije en open samenleving.
