Interesting facts & figures about UK's EV market! 📊 With EV sales accounting for almost 20% of new car sales by 2024, the market experiences significant growth . This increase is being driven by significant factory rebates totalling £4.5 billion, aimed at meeting the UK's Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandate. 🌱 The mandate requires an increasing percentage of cars sold annually to be zero-emission vehicles, with a target of 80% by 2030. 🎯 However, car manufacturers find it challenging to meet the requirements, requiring expensive incentives and the purchase of credits to avoid penalties. Market leaders, such as Kia, expressed their concerns about the ambitious targets and call for additional incentives to keep up the momentum. The Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom highlights its significant investments and initiatives to support the transition to EVs. 💰 With its ambition to become Europe's largest EV market, achieving this goal will require continued cooperation between the government and carmakers to address challenges and ensure a sustainable transition to electric mobility. This week, Gabriëls - Power opened a new charging station in Kemzeke (Belgium). With space for 12 cars to charge (400 kW), it is the largest and fastest in the province of Flanders. 🔋 🚗 Located near a high-traffic public road, Gabriëls makes a conscious decision not to install its charging stations along motorways, but at strategic locations that benefit not only commuters but also residents and businesses.
