‘Tis the season to give! 🫴 At John Cockerill North America, the holiday spirit shines through our annual company-wide food drive, a meaningful effort to support the communities we serve. From October 14th to November 15th, our employees united across U.S. offices to collect essential items for three incredible nonprofit organizations: ➤ Wesleyville Interfaith Food Pantry (Erie, PA): Serving families year-round with food and essentials. ➤ Lee College Student Resource Center & Market (Baytown, TX): Supporting students with food and resources as they pursue their education. ➤ Brightside Project (Salem, OH): Empowering children and families with the tools they need to thrive. 🌱 This initiative, which includes pantry staples, hygiene products, and other necessities, demonstrates our dedication to strengthening the communities where we live and work. "We’re proud to come together as a team to make a difference in the lives of those within our communities during this special time of year," said Tiffany Miller, Human Resources Regional Manager. This year, the famous Viva For Life Cube is setting up in Seraing, not far from the Foundation's site. More than just an event, it's an essential mobilisation in the fight against poverty, which still affects too many children and families in Belgium. This event reflects the ambition of the 1st Sustainable Development Goal - SDG 1 - to eradicate poverty in all its forms throughout the world 🌍 At the Foundation, we share this mission. Together, we thought about extending these actions with integrated solutions, including housing, water and electricity, to go beyond education. ✨ Lar Abdon Batista: A children's home that aspires to transform its facilities to make them accessible to children with disabilities. From 22 to 29 November, the Belgian Economic Mission (BEM) is taking place in Brazil under the presidency of her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium. In a few days' time, Véronique, General Manager of the Foundation, will be flying to Brazil, a country rich in cultures and initiatives that are bringing about change. This visit will be an opportunity to explore new projects and strengthen our commitment alongside partners who turn challenges into opportunities. In the meantime, we would like to highlight OMUNGA, the beneficiary of the 1st Foundation Day. This association, which works in the most isolated regions of the Amazon, is the perfect embodiment of the values of resilience and social impact that we stand for. Following the latest call for projects, we were delighted to receive several eligible applications.📌 Currently in the analysis and evaluation phase, these initiatives focus on key issues that can truly transform lives. Key themes include: ▫️Access to drinking water, a source of life for thousands of families. ▫️Reducing infant mortality, a major health challenge. ▫️Safety and protection during childbirth, to ensure safe births. ▫️Supporting education and promoting training in technical trades, to prepare for a sustainable future. A look back at the beneficiaries of the 2nd Foundation Day with the Opération Papa Noël association, founded by Anaïs and Romain.⭐️ Their initiative has a particular impact on families who, faced with financial difficulties, dread not being able to give their children presents for the Christmas season.
