Why are we banning TikTok and not OnlyFans? I have a love hate relationship with social. I see it’s good side and bad. I use it for work and yet it spills over into my non-work time (sometimes too much). I’m afraid for my 6 year old daughter and how it will affect her teenage years. But reading about the girls who are creating content by breaking records of sexual partners in a day / 12 hours etc. This crushes my heart. This is the very dark side of society fuelled by our obsession with social media and ‘fame’. I’m heartbroken for these young women and their families - even if they purport to be supportive. #influencers #onlyfans #socialmedia #tiktok #makewavesnotwaste

I can't hold on any longer, I have to let this go. The truth is, I've only ever had one P...in my entire working life. I'm talking about the Pricing P from the x4 P's of marketing. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭? - Yep helped shape and discuss that before in my Pharma days. 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞? - I've sat around decision making tables adding my two penneth. 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? - All over that one! Mine and a lot of my colleagues, fave P. 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞? - I can only remember ONE project in my 18 years + of working in marketing where I was involved in any meaningful discussion around this P. Only 𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄 in my life have I ever been involved in discussions around a product's price that I was marketing. And even then I got shot down repeatedly by the CEO and FD. I lost the battle but at least I was combatant! I have a feeling I'm not an anomaly here. But if marketers/agencies/consultancies are shut out of the pricing plans, is it any wonder the majority of us are obsessed with promotion? Have you been involved in pricing strategy with any of your clients? #Pricing #Marketing #Strategy #AdvertisingAndMarketing #Makewavesnotwaste

Has Linkedin moved forward since Big Boy Weiner left the show? Let’s dive in and refresh ourselves with the news from back then: - Facebook had announced a copycat of Pinterest which did nothing much but temporarily crash Pinterest’s share value. - Twitter were doing well and had announced Q4 earnings of just over $1 Billion USD! - Jeff Weiner announced he’d be stepping down as CEO of LinkedIn in June 2020 after rocketing all the key numbers of the platform since he arrived in 2008. Has LinkedIn moved forward as a channel for users since 2020? Has Ryan Roslansky lived up to expectations set by his previous boss? Have a lovely Sunday and week ahead! - - thanks to XDivers Centro de Mergulho - - #SocialMedia #SundaySocial #LinkedIn #Leadership #Business #makewavesnotwaste

One billion tires are thrown away every year Around four billion are already in landfills and storage sites worldwide 🌎 Globally, one billion tires reach end-of-life each year, contributing to significant environmental and public health challenges. Improperly discarded tires often accumulate in landfills, drainage systems, and public spaces, creating breeding grounds for disease-carrying mosquitoes and increasing the risk of flooding in urban areas. The management of tire waste has become an urgent issue that requires innovative solutions to reduce these impacts. In Nigeria, efforts are underway to repurpose waste tires into useful products such as rubber paving stones, floor tiles, insulation materials, and footwear. By integrating circular economy practices, these initiatives prevent waste tires from clogging drainage systems or being incinerated, which releases harmful emissions. The products created from recycled materials offer durability and sustainability, providing alternatives to traditional materials used in construction and consumer goods. The environmental benefits of tire recycling go beyond waste reduction. Discarded tires contribute to public health risks, particularly in regions prone to malaria outbreaks. When left in open spaces, tires collect stagnant water, providing a habitat for mosquitoes. Recycling tires at scale helps mitigate these risks by reducing the number of tires that end up in the environment while minimizing CO2 emissions from burning waste materials. The recycling of tires also demonstrates economic benefits through job creation. Recycling facilities have expanded operations to employ more people, contributing to local economies and offering a livelihood to those involved in the production process. The process not only addresses environmental issues but also generates economic opportunities by turning waste into commercially viable products that are available across major cities. This model reflects the broader shift toward circular economy solutions in waste management. By treating end-of-life materials as resources rather than waste, industries can reduce environmental harm, create sustainable products, and contribute to long-term economic growth while addressing critical public health and infrastructure challenges.
