Strengthening Mexico’s Agricultural Ecosystem: Our Formal Landing and Key Collaborations Last week marked a pivotal moment as we formally entered the vibrant Mexican Ag & Food Tech landscape. We kicked off with Earth Night, an event hosted with Dalus Capital, Impact Ventures PSM, and The Yield Lab LATAM, where climate took center stage. With over 200 attendees, the event fostered essential discussions on sustainability and innovation in agriculture. As the week continued, Vanessa B., our Principal in Mexico, hosted a dinner with key ecosystem players, including Syngenta, Sigma, PSM, FOCIR, Dallus, Blooms, Tec de Monterrey, Verqor, and more. Together with our partners Alexandre Stephan and Ariadne Caballero, we celebrated this milestone, strengthening relationships and affirming our commitment to support and grow Mexico’s Ag & Food Tech ecosystem. To close the week, we participated in the World Agri-Tech —an event originating from San Francisco, now here in Mexico, highlighting the immense potential for innovation in the region. The event brought together 300 people to discuss the challenges and opportunities in this space. With agriculture contributing around 3.9% to Mexico's GDP and providing livelihoods for over 5 million workers, the sector is a backbone of the Mexican economy. As one of the world’s top 10 agricultural producers, Mexico supplies essential grains, fruits, and vegetables both domestically and internationally. Our journey here in Mexico has just begun, and we’re excited to collaborate with all stakeholders to drive sustainable, climate-focused agricultural advancements. Together, we’re creating the future of agriculture in Mexico. 🌎 #spventuresLATAM #mexicotechweek #worldagritech #agfoodtech #climatech #spventuresteam Francisco Jardim, Felipe Guth, Ariadne Caballero, Alexandre Stephan, Vanessa B., Rebecca Aguiar, Pedro P. Last week, our partner Francisco Jardim and our Head of Impact Juliana De Podestá, had the pleasure of joining other Brazilian players at the GIIN Impact Forum (The Global Impact Investing Network), one of the world’s leading events on impact investing. 🌎✨ The event brought together investors, managers, and experts from around the globe to share insights and discuss the practices shaping the future of purposeful investments. It was a unique opportunity to stand alongside industry leaders, exploring innovative approaches to address social and environmental challenges. It was especially valuable to highlight the tremendous potential of Latin America—not only for its critical role in nature-based solutions but also due to the increasing maturity of conversations on impact and sustainability across the region. With its unique biodiversity and strong regenerative practices, Latin America emerges as one of the most promising regions for impact investments. It’s inspiring to be part of such insightful, in-depth discussions that emphasize the importance of aligning capital with impact for a more sustainable future. We're committed to taking the next steps, positioning Latin America—and particularly the agro and food sectors—as essential players in this global journey.🌱 #ImpactInvesting #SustainableFinance #LatinAmericaImpact #AgriTech #FoodTech #NatureBasedSolutions #SPVentures #GIINImpactForum #InvestWithPurpose #SocialImpact #EnvironmentalImpact #FutureOfFinance

Over the past decade, Brazil has established itself as the world’s leading hub for financial innovation. A remarkable, collaborative effort between regulators (BACEN, CVM, etc.), entrepreneurs, and venture capital investors converged with groundbreaking technological advances. The result? Financial inclusion, significant improvements in service quality, democratization of access, reduced fees, and wealth creation for investors, entrepreneurs, and society at large. Now, the world’s largest agribusiness sector is joining this movement. Agrolend, following in the footsteps of giants like Nubank, is positioning itself as the most successful digital-native financial institution in global agribusiness. The founders have masterfully executed a strategy that combines regulatory innovation, business models, technology, and capital raising. Agribusiness, the sector with the highest working capital intensity globally, is on the verge of a revolution that will be remembered as the "before and after Agrolend" era. We are entering a new age where capital markets directly finance rural producers through instruments like LCAs, available to any retail investor on online investment platforms. This is true democratization and disruption. At SP Ventures, we are proud to have supported these visionary entrepreneurs from the very first round and to have increased our participation in every subsequent round, including this Series C. It is individuals like Andre Glezer, Alan Glezer, CFA, Valeria Bonadio, Carlos Fagundes, Leopoldo Vettor, and Danilo Morais who tackle our greatest challenges and accelerate human progress. Thank you for the honor of being part of this journey! https://lnkd.in/dsivJjxQ #spventures #agrolend #agfintech #spventuresteam Francisco Jardim, Felipe Guth, Alexandre Stephan, Ariadne Caballero, Felipe Romano, Rebecca Aguiar, Vanessa B., Pedro P. SP Ventures Strengthens Its Commitment to Diversity at LAVCA Week in NY SP Ventures kicked off LAVCA Week by participating in two pivotal diversity-focused initiatives. On Monday, invited by @DiversityVC, we joined the inaugural meeting of the Latam Diversity Data Alliance, contributing to discussions on advancing the measurement of diversity indicators in Latin America and the venture capital industry. On Tuesday, Francisco Jardim represented SP Ventures at the launch of the Diversity Hiring Toolkit during the Diversity by Design event, organized by Diversity VC, IDB Lab, Cubo Itaú, and Google. During the panel, we shared our vision, highlighting our Diversity and Inclusion Roadmap, developed through the SCALE X program by IFC - International Finance Corporation and Value for Women. This roadmap sets clear goals, such as measuring diversity within our firm and portfolio, while strengthening our commitment to advocating diversity strategies across the ecosystem. We are proud to be part of these discussions that drive meaningful change. The week concluded with a diversity conversation organized by We Invest, where our Partner Ariadne Caballero serves on the board. Latam’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths, and we are excited about shaping a more inclusive and representative future for both the venture capital industry and the communities we serve. We look forward to continuing these conversations with our partners across Latam, contributing to a more inclusive venture capital landscape. #lavcaweek #nycity #diversity #diversityinvc #spventures #spventuresteam Francisco Jardim, Ariadne Caballero, Felipe Guth, Alexandre Stephan, Juliana De Podestá, Rebecca Aguiar, Vanessa B., Felipe Romano, Pedro P.
