On 24 October, the Belarusian electric transport manufacturer BKM Holding presented an articulated electric bus E433 Vitovt at the Sirius Autodrom in Sochi. Recall that 10 electric buses model 321 of Olgerd series are already in operation in the city, while the articulated model was showcased for the first time. The electric bus was inspected by the head of Sochi Andrei Proshunin, Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads of the Krasnodar Territory Alexei Smaglyuk, Director of MUP KTTU Alexander Grachev, Head of Dealer Centre-South Nikolai Mozyrets and other visitors of the event. Representatives of the Belarusian company answered all the questions on the characteristics and possibilities of environmentally friendly passenger transport for operation on the roads of Russian cities. Southern Transport Forum-2024 is a platform for discussing key aspects of modernisation and development of the transport sector, an opportunity to get concrete solutions and set the vector of transport industry development. The event gathered representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, as well as heads of progressive enterprises of the motor transport and related industries. Nine new electric buses and three charging stations were delivered to Sochi this year. Since 1 October the cars started to run in the central part of the city. Recall that since 2021, only one electric bus of BKM Holding had been transporting the city's passengers. Now there are 10 of them on the route. Citizens and guests of the resort have already managed to appreciate the convenience of the new transport. The Mayor of Sochi personally attended the presentation of the electric buses and expressed his gratitude to the Governor of the Krasnodar Region, Veniamin Kondratiev, for supporting this important project. In the city car park on Golenyev Street, Sochi Mayor Andrey Proshunin inspected the new batch of electric buses and assessed their advantages. The vehicles fully comply with passenger transport safety standards and all the requirements of a barrier-free environment. Electric buses E321 Olgerd are equipped with validators for cashless fare payment, passenger flow counting system, climate control, USB sockets, speed limitation system, video surveillance, media panels, auto-informer, automatic fire detection and extinguishing system. 20 modernised trams T701 will be delivered to Novosibirsk by the end of the year. Half of the bodies have already arrived from Minsk. On 2 October, Mayor Maxim Kudryavtsev was one of the first to ride on one of them. The presentation was also attended by representatives of the joint venture and BKM Holding. A machine set of the first complete tram car model T701 has been used for modernisation of cars at the joint Russian-Belarusian enterprise BKM Siberia since 2024. The modernised trams are longer and more comfortable: they have four doors, climate control, a ramp for passengers with limited mobility, and a low floor in the centre of the cabin. In addition, the trams are equipped with validators for cashless fare payment. Modernisation is supported by the government of the Novosibirsk region. As part of the program of the Eurasian Economic Forum 2024, the winners and finalists of the second International Climate Competition Green Eurasia were awarded on 1 October in Yerevan (Republic of Armenia). According to the results, the practice "Electric Truck C45700, VITOVT Truck Electro Prime (prototype)" won the third place in the Green Transport category. It is noteworthy that the second place in this category was awarded to the St. Petersburg Transport Committee for the project on modernisation of Bus Park No. 2, which serves all electric buses with night charging in the city. Electric bus model E433 Vitovt Max Electro manufactured by BKM Holding is among the vehicles in operation there since 2023. The ceremony was attended by Members of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission: Mher Grigoryan, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia; Igor Petrishenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus; Serik Zhumangarin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Adylbek Kasymaliev, First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic; Alexey Overchuk Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, as well as Andrey Slepnev, EEC Trade Minister. The Green Eurasia International Climate Competition has been organised since 2023 by the Eurasian Economic Commission and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects. The aim of the competition is to search for effective climate practices aimed at sustainable development and adaptation to climate change in the EAEU and other countries. The authors of the winning projects in each nomination receive recommendations for replication of their developments. This year the competition received more than 300 practices from 12 countries, including China, Egypt, Iran, Indonesia, Cameroon, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. 57 best climate practices in 15 different categories became the winners and finalists of the competition. From 26 to 29 September, the Ulaanbaatar Partnership international exhibition took place in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia). Within the framework of this multi-sectoral event, a collective exposition of Belarusian manufacturers Made in Belarus was presented. The grand opening of the exhibition took place with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Mongolia Dmitry Gorelik. BKM Holding took part in the exhibition for the first time with the presentation of a 1:20 scale model of trolleybus 32100D Olgerd. The guests of the pavilion were also introduced to the whole range of manufactured wheeled and rail vehicles for the needs of cities (electric bus, tram, electric truck) and charging infrastructure. The trolleybuses are 100% low-floor and can be equipped with an autonomous running system based on modern electric energy storage devices with a range of up to 20 kilometres. Charging is carried out while travelling under the catenary. The current collectors can be removed and installed on the catenary automatically from the driver's cabin. Electric motor power is 150 kW. Passenger capacity is not less than 80 people, seating capacity is not less than 30. The transport is equipped with modern options for the comfort and safety of passengers and drivers, contributes to the improvement of the city’s image. It is worth noting that over 51 years of operation, the company has produced almost 5 thousand trolleybuses, including 3 units of the 101 model delivered to the Mongolian capital in 1996. Today the administration of the Mongolian capital seeks to reduce air pollution in Ulaanbaatar, so it is actively developing electric bus traffic. The collective exposition of machinery and products of the enterprises of the Ministry of Industry system was held from 27 to 29 September 2024 on Oktyabrskaya Square in Minsk. The exhibition was timed to coincide with two significant dates — the 30th anniversary of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus and the professional holiday — Machine Builder's Day. BKM Holding presented its electric truck model C45700 of Vitovt series and an electric bus model E433 of Vitovt series. For the first time all major enterprises of the Ministry of Industry representing all spheres of industry demonstrated the power of unity in the very heart of the Belarusian capital. On September 14, BKM Holding (widely known as Belkommunmash) opened its doors to visitors. The event this year was a part of the City Day programme. Having received a route map with activities, the guests set off on an exciting journey through the workshops. The acquaintance with the enterprise began at the exposition of 1:20 scale models of vehicles and in the photo gallery. There one could get familiar with remarkable facts and achievements of the company, which is more than 50 years old. In the workshops the visitors could see how the production is organized. The workers told in detail what and the Belarusian electric transport is made of and how it is created. Here it was also possible to try an interactive orchestra to feel the connection of the electric circuit, and to test one’s knowledge on a quiz-wheel. The vehicles were of great interest. Children and adults could not only go through the passenger compartment, but also sit behind the wheel. An electric truck, an articulated electric bus and a low-floor tram were presented to the guests. It is noteworthy that these days the assembly line was mainly occupied by vehicles for Minsk - electric buses and trams. The final location of the route was an area with a stage, a food court. One could buy with BKM Holding branded souvenirs. The main feature of this year's programme was the activation zones for superpowers revealing: a photo box with stickers, a basketball hoop, Jenga, an inflatable slide and master classes on creating masks and badges. The guests were also entertained with animation programme BKMMAN animation programme, flash mob, quiz and prize draw. Seven electric buses E321 Olgerd manufactured by BKM Holding were launched on the line in Krasnodar on 13 September. On this day the residents of Kuban celebrated the 87th anniversary of the founding of the Krasnodar region. "The gift to the citizens turned ou to be so modern and comfortable’, - said the head of the city Evgeny Naumov. The electric buses were inspected by his deputy Vladimir Arkhipov, director of the Department of Transport and Roads Andrey Belugin, director of the MUP ‘KTTU’ Alexander Grachev and representatives of the Belarusian plant-manufacturer OJSC “HMC “BKM”. After the inspection, they travelled along the route and noted the high level of comfort of the transport. "The route is significant for Krasnodar, it connects the western and eastern parts of the city. Its length is almost fifty-one kilometres", - said Alexander Grachev. The new three-door electric buses are low-floor, which means they are convenient for parents with prams and people with disabilities. In total, there are 31 seats in the compartment. Each electric bus can carry up to 60 people. Each unit is equipped with air conditioning, LED route indicators, information ticker. The batteries are charged at night for six hours, which allows the vehicle to travel up to 220 kilometres on a single charge. By the end of 2024 Minsk will receive 10 articulated electric buses model E433 of Vitovt series under the supply contract. The unit differs externally from the 2018 delivery not only in lighting technology. There is a separate door for entering the driver's cabin and a climate control system installed. The pantograph has been moved closer to the front axle for more convenient charging connections. Autonomous range is ensured by a supercapacitor-based energy storage system. Charging time from 30 per cent takes up to 15 minutes, with a range of up to 15 km with full weight and working climate control systems in the compartment and driver's cabin. It should be noted that BKM Holding also produces electric buses with lithium-iron-phosphate batteries with a range of up to 250 km and plans to introduce a hybrid system in future modifications. Belarus was the first country in the CIS to launch a regular urban route served by electric buses. In 2016, BKM Holding signed its first contract for the supply of electric buses, and already in 2017 20 electric buses E433 Vitovt entered the routes of Minsk city. On 31 May 2019 BKM Holding delivered to Minsk 28 units of E433 Vitovt Max Electro (articulated) and 32 units of E321 (short). Another 9 were delivered in E321 Olgerd body in 2021. Today, 89 electric buses of BKM Holding are already transporting Minsk residents. The XIV International Transport and Logistics Forumis traditionally held in Minsk as part of the Belarusian Transport Week. The forum program included a large-scale business program with the participation of leading industry experts.
