This is the sort of thing Taproot Edmonton pays attention to. Omar Yaqub from IslamicFamily gave a powerful interview for our Housing Complex series, and the Ecotrust has been part of several stories about how building things literally shapes the world. This seems like an apt pairing!
Learn more about our Springboard Grant recipient, IslamicFamily . . . IslamicFamily is committed to advancing affordable housing solutions by leveraging the innovative findings from the Affordable Housing Solutions Lab. Utilizing the Springboard Grant, they will collaborate with housing experts to deliver specialized staff training. Hello, As this year comes to a close, I want to take some time to applaud my wonderful team, thank our partners and reflect on our journey. This year has been truly remarkable and unforgettable for us here at Alberta Ecotrust Foundation. I am forever grateful for the opportunities our team was given to make a lasting impact on our province. Some of my favourite moments from 2024 include: - The launch of our Retrofit Accelerator coaching program that aims to help building owners and managers reduce emissions through deep retrofits. - The disbursement of dozens of grants to organizations and First Nations communities making an environmental impact. - Watching our Emissions-Netrual Buildings Information Exchange (ENBIX) initiative expand greatly. - Seeing the Home Upgrades Program improve the lives of hundreds of Albertans. Our work at Alberta Ecotrust wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing partners, collaborators, donors, stakeholders and board and committee members. Your contributions and generosity create real change within Alberta to ensure a sustainable and healthy future for all. We couldn’t do it without you! Despite all of the memorable positive moments of 2024, our efforts at Alberta Ecotrust and within the environmental sector are challenging. Therefore, I encourage everyone to spend time with loved ones to nourish our souls as we reflect on the incredible and important work that has been done over the past year. I hope that everyone can take time this Holiday season to rest as we look upon the horizon of the next 365 days. We have many exciting initiatives underway; I’m looking forward to working with all of you in the New Year. Happy Holidays! Rod Ruff President Alberta Ecotrust Foundation
