The CCA BC is a registered non-profit, volunteer run charity that supports people who are affected by celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, and other gluten-related conditions. We all live with celiac disease and understand the hurdles and hardships that come with this life changing diagnosis. We are here to support you! If you or a loved one are struggling, contact us! Why go it alone? We focus on: Raising funds for medical research, and other support programs Raising awareness of celiac disease and gluten-related conditions Offering support within our communities to all ages and stages of life with celiac disease Working with gluten free businesses to promote safe food practices for those adversely affected by gluten Hosting events to bring the celiac community together Attending local events to provide the latest information to stakeholders in the food and medical communities

RESEARCH NEWS: According to a new study published in the journal Pediatrics, multiple courses of antibiotics could be associated with celiac disease development in at-risk children. The research also reveals a potential new test for predicting which children will develop celiac disease regarding the role of zonulin, a protein that increases intestinal permeability by weakening the intestinal barrier. All study participants were at-risk for celiac disease.
