CREWS (Canadian Rail Equipment Works & Services) reposted this
In late June, members of the JRTA team, Minister Kim Masland, Deputy Minister Peter Hackett, Deputy Minister Paul LaFleche, and Halifax Regional Municipality (one of our Core Partners) travelled to Ottawa and Montreal for an in-depth look at their transportation systems. The group travelled by bus, light rail, metro, and the train. During the trip, we met with transportation organizations to discuss their governance, priorities, and challenges. We also had the opportunity to tour some exciting projects, including the REM, the CREWS Johnstown facility, the Samuel de Champlain Bridge, and more. Thank you to Ontario Ministry of Transportation/ Ministère des Transports de l’Ontario, CREWS (Canadian Rail Equipment Works & Services), City of Ottawa / OC Transpo, Agence de mobilité durable, Société de transport de Montréal, Signature on the Saint Lawrence, Exo – Réseau de transport métropolitain, CDPQ Infra, Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) and Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain for sharing your insights with us. We’re excited to take the lessons learned and apply them as work on the Regional Transportation Plan continues.
