Karina brings 20+ years of research, project management and supervisory experience in the field of municipal climate change, including 15 years working at the City of Windsor as Supervisor of Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change. Over her career, Karina has worked with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and lead the implementation of key strategic municipal plans, programs, and projects. Karina is a licensed Professional Engineer who holds a Bachelor's and a Master’s in Environmental Engineering as well as additional training in infrastructure resiliency, climate policy and procurement, climate law, and asset management to name a few. She is inspired by the climate action being undertaken across Canada and is particularly interested in identifying opportunities to achieve mutual benefits with other municipal priorities including housing, affordability, and equity. Most recently, he worked as an Energy and Environmental Manager for Sinclar Group Forest Products Ltd., working closely with BC Hydro and industry to promote engagement in environmental management and energy conservation. Our Managing Director, Ewa Jackson, joined the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson to announce an exciting new project today. The Pacific North Shore and Sunshine Coast Regional Climate Collaborative project is one of several supported through Natural Resources Canada (NRCan)’s Climate Change Adaptation Program and the Climate-Resilient Coastal Communities Program to reduce climate change risks and build more resilient communities across the country in support of the #NationalAdaptationStrategy. The Pacific North Shore and Sunshine Coast Regional Climate Collaborative project will help coordinate approaches to address #SeaLevelRise and #CoastalFlooding, while also multisolving to achieve multiple local co-benefits. Through this project, we look forward to establishing a regional collaborative and building the foundation for long-term outcomes related to #CoastalResilience across the Pacific North Shore and Sunshine Coast region.
