About us

Ktunaxa people have occupied the lands adjacent to the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers and the Arrow Lakes of British Columbia, Canada for more than 10,000 years. The Ktunaxa Nation Council is the governmental organization which represents the four Canadian Ktunaxa communities in the southeast corner of British Columbia. It is a dynamic work place, and is engaged in many activities that are unique within the province. The Ktunaxa Nation is well known for their innovation and have often been presented as an example as a First Nation who is succeeding in rebuilding their governmental and cultural institutions.
