BREAKING NEWS: According to TODAY'S Labour Force Survey, Ontario closed 2024 with an increase of 23,400 new workers; although only 9,200 were full-time with 14,200 being part-time. The unemployment rate edged down from 7.6% in November to 7.5% in December. Youth unemployment rate continues to be a major problem in Ontario where the unemployment rate for males between 15-24 is 20.7% (1 in 5) while the unemployment rate for men between 25-54 is just 5.8%. Young women had a better unemployment rate (15.5%) but this was still twice as high as the unemployment rate for the whole population. We've broken down the numbers for 85 separate communities in Ontario and members of Ontario Labour Market Online can access the data now by visiting: https://lnkd.in/e_TzSqy7 Not yet a member of Ontario Labour Market Online.
