The Champlain #eConsult BASE™ service provides timely access to Endocrinology advice. Our research shows that endocrinologists are most commonly asked about medication adjustments in diabetes-related eConsults from primary care, representing 71% of all eConsult cases sent endocrinology on the Champlain eConsult BASE™ platform. In almost half of cases, face-to-face referrals are avoided. Midwives now have access to specialist advice through eConsult, joining physicians and nurse practitioners who can access eConsult advice through the OTNhub. 👩⚕️ The MACA project aims to enable access for Midwives in Ontario to receive specialist advice for patient care, in alignment with best practice guidelines, to improve accessibility and assess acceptability & feasibility with ongoing evaluation.
