As we step into 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible year-end celebration we hosted at New Scotland with our amazing network of partners and community members. This event marked the official launch of our new brand, Rooted, and we’re deeply grateful for your enthusiastic support as Dartmouth Housing transitions to Rooted Community Development Partners. Our new name reflects our mission and values, and that resilience begins with the foundation of a safe and stable home. We couldn’t be more excited to ring in a new year with new projects, new partners and meaningful new solutions for our clients. Happy 2025 to all and welcome back!

We’re excited to share a new chapter in our journey — Dartmouth Housing is now Rooted: Community Development Partners! Our new name reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainable development, community building, and innovative housing solutions that create spaces where everyone can thrive. As Rooted, we’re proud to continue serving Nova Scotia with impactful projects, including the groundbreaking 1 Circassion Drive in Cole Harbour —the region’s first multi-residential hybrid mass timber project. This rebranding signals growth, strengthened partnerships, and a renewed focus on building vibrant, inclusive communities. Recently, our Director of Development, Dylan Ward, spoke with CBC Maritime Noon and Patrick Crabbe from Bird Construction about the growing significance of mass timber in affordable housing projects. Our Circassian Drive project in Cole Harbour was highlighted as a standout example of incorporating low-GHG building materials into non-profit-led developments. 🌞🔥 Summer BBQ 2024: Celebrating Our Milestones! 🔥🌞 We had a fantastic day at our Summer BBQ event! 🎉 It was not just about delicious food and great company, but also about celebrating some significant milestones for our organization. Earlier this year, we broke ground on Circassion Drive in Cole Harbour. This is the first hybrid mass timber multi-res project in Atlantic Canada. Our team was able to design a building that maximizes the benefits of CLT while reducing costs from a traditional mass timber build. This is a flagship project for us –representing the partnerships, new innovations and creativity we are bringing to our work each day. And as we evolve our thinking and approach to developing housing, we also determined that it was time to update our brand. This Fall, we will be transitioning from Dartmouth Housing to become ROOTED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS. The name signifies new beginnings and speaks to the fact that we are supporting Nova Scotians in creating a home, putting down roots and building a foundation for life. We will share more on the new brand in the weeks to come. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special shoutout to Dartmouth Housing staff team for making this event such a success. Cheers to new beginnings and important opportunities ahead!🥂🚀 #CommunityDevelopment, #NovaScotia, #TeamCelebration

The history of Canada Day Canada Day is a day to reflect on what it means to be Canadian, to share what makes us proud and to celebrate in our own way. This pride is reflected in as many ways as there are Canadians. Canada Day highlights the richness of our land, our diversity, our culture, our contributions, but above all, our people. Since 1868, July 1 is an opportunity for Canadians from all communities to come together. Click the link below to learn more about it: https://lnkd.in/gSacPHh7
